The Tennessee Smokies defeated the Chattanooga Lookouts, 3-2, in the first game of the double header. Both Matt Shaw and James Triantos both recorded multi-hit games. Brody McCullough was fantastic in his Smokies debut. In four innings pitched, he allowed one earned run on three hits and seven strikeouts. Michael Arias recorded the win and Cam Sanders picked up the save.

The Smokies won the second game, 5-1. In his Tennessee debut, starting pitcher Kyle McGowin struck out eight batters and allowed one run in 4 ⅓ innings pitched. With the game tied 1-1 in the top of the fifth inning, Moises Ballesteros hit a go-ahead three-run double. Jordan Nwogu was brilliant at the bottom of the lineup. Nwogu went 1-for-1 with an RBI, a run scored, two walks and two runs scored.
