CCS Girls Edge Baylor For Third At State Cross Country

All-State Lady Red Raider Mae Mae Powe Finishes Ninth

Baylor's All-State runner Mae Mae Powe led her team to a close fourth place team finish at today’s TSSAA State Cross Country D-II Championships. Powe closed her spectacular cross-country career with a podium finish of ninth. Addi Greene—11th—earned her third consecutive All-State honor. Laney Fowler (26th), Kadie McDonald (32nd), & Ella Rogers (43rd) scored big for the Raiders; and Ellie Bickerstaff (46th) & Betsy Williams (50th) notched impressive runs. 

Led by Taylor Stanford --with a podium finish of 15th--Chattanooga Christian edged Baylor to earn third (a tiebreaker).

Gilly Shumate --fifth overall—led the GPS runners to a fifth-place team finish. The girls Division-2 race was the deepest and fastest overall of all four divisions.
