Monday night was Senior Night, and senior Jackets (second from left) Devan Walford, Kobyn Calhoun, Parker Day and Colton Key, along with coaches (far left) Brandon Eden and (far right) Davy Cothron, celebrated a victory over Red Boiling Springs.

The Trousdale County High School baseball team finished its regular season Monday with a 10-0, five-inning win over Red Boiling Springs. The Yellow Jackets scored two runs in the first inning, five in the second, and three in the fifth, as they recorded their 26th consecutive victory over the visiting Bulldogs.

“Great day celebrating the class of ’24, and to cap it off with a win made things even better,” TCHS Coach Davy Cothron said. “Maybe this win gives us some juice for the post season.”

Senior Parker Day enjoyed a good game, as he went three for four with three RBI and two runs scored. Colton Key, Kobyn Calhoun and Ayden Beal each added two hits.

Alex Livingston and Gavin Linville rounded out the hits with one apiece.

Key was the winning pitcher, as he got the start and went two innings, striking out two and rendering two hits.

On April 27, the Hartsville boys claimed a 14-11 come-from-behind win over the visitors from Monroe County, Kentucky. They trailed 5-2 entering the bottom of the third inning and finally took their first lead in the fourth frame when they scored six runs.

“That was a nice win,” Cothron said. “They lit us up like a firework opening night, but we piled up runs and made just enough plays to hold them off.”

Calhoun and Day had two hits each; one of Calhoun’s hits was a home run. Beal, Key, Devan Walford, Livingston and Peyton Scruggs added one hit a piece.

The Jackets traveled to Macon County on April 25, but suffered a 6-5 loss. They scored one in the opening frame, then gave up six runs in the bottom of that inning. Later, the visitors plated two runs in the third inning and two more in the fourth.

The Jackets had only two hits, while committing three errors. Beal and Day provided the hits.
