CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A number of postseason baseball and softball games were played this past weekend, let’s take a look at how things shaped out.

In the world of softball, Clarksville High, Kirkwood High and Montgomery Central all had their seasons come to an end, however, Rossview High was able to survive and advance. The Hawks are now the lone softball team in the area still playing. Now, Rossview is scheduled to play a home game against Dickson County in a regional semifinal matchup on Monday, May 13.

Meanwhile, in baseball, there were four Clarksville-area teams still alive, which included Clarksville Academy. However, they were eliminated on Saturday following a region matchup against Providence Academy.

Montgomery Central, after winning their district, went 0-2 in their region tournament, ending their season.

Clarksville High and Rossview High were also in playoff contention going into the weekend as they both traveled to Dickson County High School for the region 7-4A tournament, which included the likes of Henry County High and Dickson County High.

While most expected a Clarksville High and Rossview High rematch in the region championship, Henry County was able to beat out the Hawks twice to end their season. Henry County later lost in the region championship to Clarksville High as the Wildcats were named region champions.

Now, CHS will host Collierville High in a three-game series starting Wednesday for the right to go to state. If Clarksville High wins the series, this would make their third state tournament appearance in the past four years.

Monday’s soccer schedule

In other news, four Clarksville-area boys’ soccer teams are set to play in the 2023-24 class 3A region semifinals on Monday.

Coming out of District 13-3A and District 14-3A, the Clarksville High Wildcats and West Creek High Coyotes both won their district championship matchups by a score of 1-0.

Each team will look to carry their momentum into the next round of the playoffs as West Creek is set to face off against Rossview High in a regional semifinal showdown on Monday, May 13. CHS will also be playing on Monday as they are scheduled to take on Northwest High School.
