The 2019 Three Rivers Conference Coach of the Year - Michael Forrester - began coaching Sullivan East Lady Patriots softball in 2013 replacing his brother, Tommy, when he became the Head Coach at Emory & Henry at that time.

12 years later, Forrester has decided to hang it up as the lead man for the program.

Coach Forrester guided the Patriots to a Regional Championship and hosted the Sub-State in 2019. His teams were always known for being hard workers and for playing the game the Lady Patriot Way.

"Sullivan East High School will always be appreciative of Coach Forrester for all he has done for our school," stated Sullivan East Athletic Director Kim Carrier. "He loves our school and makes his players part of his family. We are forever grateful for all of his contributions. We are thrilled he will be staying on as an integral part of our women's basketball program."

While Forrester will remain as part of the East family, continuing his teaching job in math, there will be a need for his replacement on the diamond. An official search will be underway as soon as possible, according to the school.
