The Sardis varsity girls track team finished 14th in the Class 4A state championships at Gulf Shores on May 3-4.

Junior performer Selena Tarvin led the way for the Lions.

Tarvin won a bronze medal by taking third in the 100-meter hurdles. She placed sixth in the 300-meter hurdles, eighth in the triple jump and 10th in the long jump.

Leah Williams finished eighth in the 100 hurdles.

Alexis Powell came in ninth in the 400-meter dash.

UMS-Wright of Mobile won its fifth consecutive Class 4A boys and girls state championships.
