The Red Bay Lady Tigers (5-0) remain undefeated after a 54-18 win over county rival Phil Campbell Friday night.

Red Bay went up 3-1 in the opening minutes of the area game after Carlee Berry hit a foul shot and Darby Madden added a shot off the glass.

The Lady Bobcats’ Elizabeth Benford and Taylor Pace tied it at three all on completed foul shots.

Elizabeth Wooten’s two pointer and a three pointer from Carlee Berry stretched Red Bay’s lead to 8-3 with 4:40 remaining in the first quarter.

Taylor and Tori Pace rounded out the Lady Bobcats’ scoring at the end of the first quarter. Phil Campbell came up short after Red Bay’s Madden hit a three pointer to give them a lead of 11-8.

The Lady Tigers scored 25 points in the second quarter to extend their lead to 36-14 at halftime.

Allie Kennedy and Kasey Sparks led Red Bay with 10 points each.

Rounding out the scoring for the Lady Tigers were Carlee Berry with nine points, Darby Madden with eight points, Hope Cook and Elizabeth Wooten with six points each, Monique Dulaney and Jade Faulkner with two points each, and Holly Harden added one point.

Taylor Pace led Phil Campbell with eight points. Madison Hardy scored five, Tori Pace and Kaylie Ayers added two each, and Elizabeth Benford scored one for the Lady Bobcats.

“We’re off to a good start,” Lady Tigers head coach Donnie Roberts said following the game.

“Winning those first three games against Belmont, Itawamba, and New Site and then our next two area games has been big. You couldn’t ask for it to be any better.”
