Priceville falls to Haleyville

HALEYVILLE – After scoring 21 points in the first quarter, the Priceville Bulldogs managed just 26 over the next three stanzas in a 58-47 loss to Haleyville on the road Friday.

The outstanding first quarter put the Bulldogs (6-5, 0-2) up 21-13, but the Lions (6-2, 2-0) came back with a 13-3 second quarter to take a two-point halftime lead.

The advantage grew to five points in the third quarter, and the Bulldogs outscored Priceville down the stretch 20-14 to pull away.

Marc McLendon led the Bulldogs in the loss with 10 points, four blocks, three steals, two rebounds and two assists. Milik Orr and Luke Mason each had nine points followed by John Williams with eight points, Kaleb Barker with five points, five rebounds, three assists and two blocks and Trent Colbert, Chandler Livingston and Jacob Crow with two points each.

The Bulldogs were edged on the road despite 13 points, four assists and four rebounds from McLendon.

Milik Orr also had 11 points in the loss. Other scorers included Barker with seven points, four assists and two steals, Mason with six points, five rebounds and three assists, Williams with six points and three rebounds, Kyle Haynes with five points and three assists, Livingston with four points, four rebounds and four assists and Crow with two points.

Priceville outscored East Lawrence 42-23 in the first half, but the Eagles rallied in the second half, including a 17-2 advantage in the fourth quarter.
