Kikko Haydar - Fayetteville

— Fayetteville High School standout Fuad “Kikko” Haydar has joined the Arkansas basketball team.

Haydar was a two-time all-conference and all-state selection for the Bulldogs and most recently was named as the player of the game for the West at the Arkansas High School All-Star game. As a senior for Fayetteville High School he averaged 20.1 points, 2.5 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals per game and led the Bulldogs from the point to a 7A state runner-up finish and 7A West Conference Championship.

“We are very excited to have Kikko join the team,” Arkansas Coach John Pelphrey said. “He will give us added depth at the point and has tremendous potential. He is a very good athlete who is smart and can create things offensively.”

Along with his skills on the court, Haydar is also an exceptional student and graduated from Fayetteville No. 1 in his class with a 4.4 grade point average. His prowess as a student led to him being awarded a Bodenhamer Fellowship by the University making him the third student-athlete in recent memory to hold that distinguished honor. Other student-athletes to be named Bodenhamer Fellows include former men’s tennis player Blake Strode and former women’s cross country/track & field athlete Laura Jakosky.
