There has been plenty of NBA players who started their carrers in our great state. But which Tennessee High School has been the starting point for most? :thumb:

In addition to naming the school, please name the players.

Ok, no takers huh? Let me put it another way. Which school can claim more than Memphis Treadwell?

Hank McDowell

Andre Turner

Elliot Perry

Penny Hardaway

Note: Melrose fans don't say Larry Finch and Ronnie Robertson because they were drafted by the NBA, but played for the ABA.

I think Memphis Booker T. Washington can make a claim.

Lorenzen Wright

Did Lorenzen's father attend BTW? He played in the NBA

The guard for the Memphis Grizzles (He played for the University of Memphis)

Also, I think Memphis Hamilton can make a claim.

Clarksville

Trenton Hassell-Twolves

Shawn Marion-Suns

Marshall Co.

Thanks, I forgot about Chris Gardner from Treadwell. Don't you forget about Hank McDowell.

No school in the state can claim more NBA players per capita than Middleton High School. Bailey Howell who starred in the 60's and is in the NBA Hall of Fame, Steve Hamer who starred in the 90's and like Howell played with the Boston Celtics. And according to the late Al McGuire, CBS analyst and former Marquette coach, Bobby "National" Parks was bound to have been a first round pick in the Mid 80's coming from Dana Kirks Memphis State Tigers. A great history for a small rural single A high school.

Per capita? Are you talking per capita based on the school's population or the city's? Besides, I'm talking about the total number of players and you named two with one possible. Nice try. :D (Note: Bobby Parks was one of my favorate Tigers. (As in my handle Tigersteve, Memphis State University Class of '86.)
