How does a 6 Team district Bracket work?

If there are 6 teams in the district, does the #1 & #2 team get a bye the first round of play-offs? Then would team 3 play team 6, and team 4 play team 5 for the first round? I assume the winners of those games would play against team 1 & 2 for the semi- finals (with #1 against the lower seeded team). Is this correct or am I out in left field?

Correct. Seed #1 and Seed #2 get 1st round byes. The brackett will usually stay intact after #4 vs #5 and #3 vs #6 play the 1st round or quarter final matches. Meaning #1 will play winner of #4 vs #5 and #2 will play winner of #3 vs #6.

A 6 team play-off is almost exactly what the NFC and AFC do. The only difference is that they have second round reseeding, but that didn't happen last year.

In High School Bracketts, there usually isn't any reseeding in subsequent rounds as I recall.

 

In Soccer District 14 A/AA boys we had six teams for the last four years:

Semi-final - #4 vs #5 winner (regardless of who wins) played #1 seed

 

Semi-final - #3 vs #6 winner (regardles of who wins) played #2 seed
