I am Coach Dugger's son, and all of you that know me know that I am not one to hide behind anything and i am especially not gonna hide behind a screen name. Now I am not perfect, neither is my dad or even the girls. But neither are any of you. To all of you who have been on here bashing 15-18 yr old girls and their coach, you should be ashamed. Is your life so bad that all you can do is pick on girls? But to all of you who have stood up for my dad, the team, and my family's name thank you so much. My family has been through enough without people bashing us. Heck the team has too. I would love to know who u all are. I would thank you in person. GO CYCLONES!!!!

Not sure what went down at the EH/Grainger game but it sounds like their is a good rivalry there. Just wanted to say I was at the CAK game last night and thought the Grizzlies played a great game. They played with a ton of class and never played our girls dirty. As for the fans, they were great to. I never once heard them say any mean spirited words or comments to our girls or fans. It was a pleasure having them visit our gym. The Grizzlies have a super program and a great bunch of girls. Win or lose I hope we can play them again next year. It was great night for some east TN high school basketball.

Very true. Wish more hosts treated guests as well as CAK did last night. Thanks for opening the doors much earlier than you posted and planned. Truly a different atmosphere. Great game, the CAK ladies were ready to win and came out of the gates shooting. A rematch would be welcome! Hope that works out next year! Still proud of my Lady Grizzlies and coaching staff!

Well it looks like a Grainger County Elizabethton rematch is not to be. The Teddy Bears are 32 and two the house. And as for Elizabethton pulling all the talent from the county schools, how did Carter County Send 3 teams to State? Good luck with the summer camp basketball, I hope y'all win it all.

Wow, I really hope you are a student. Surely an adult wouldn't be this classless!

Close, but not all these so-called facts are true. Your statement about Cara is not completely accurate. Dugger didn't get her playing "on his AAU team" as she played for her father's AAU team throughout high school. She did move before her junior year, but what you fail to mention (and probably didn't even know) is that she was planning to attend EHS as a freshmen. Her family decided not to make the move at that time after the EHS coach told her father that he likely would not be staying at EHS. The coach left a few months later. Cara later decided to make the move to Elizabethton to get better coaching and be on a better team.

Your "facts" aren't all-the-way accurate either. How do you know what the former coach told her? Were you in the conversation?

I suppose you have direct access to the "facts" in this case. No I wasn't part of the conversation between the coach and player and/or father. I didn't say or imply I was. If you read the post, you will see that I stated what her father told me. I was part of that conversation. BTW, what horse do you have in this race anyway?

I never have owned a horse, but I know both coaches and think both are very good coaches. Coach Dugger has been for awhile now and Coach Combs is young and has really built that program back up again.

I have read these threads on-and-off this season, but haven't commented until seeing all this back-and-forth bantering between who I perceive to be adults (however I really hope that one Cyclone fan is a student, because I would hate to know any adult would say the things he says).

I guess my purpose in commenting is because I can't stand the he said/she said. I am also realistic and wish everyone was too. Yes, Dugger has been known to recruit, BUT (before you blast me) most coaches would if they could get away with it.

The thing that amuses me the most is how a couple of Betsy fans use these tongue-in-cheek comments about certain games and make excuses all the time as to why they lost a particular game (ex: out-of-state tournament earlier this season). But when Grainger fans were making excuses, Betsy fans lay into them.

I do not believe that Betsy fans are the only ones who complain about officiating. I cannot recall watching a ballgame when I was for a particular team or just there to enjoy a game with no special interest that I have not seen missed calls on both sides of the court. It can be extremely frustrating and people in general tend to recall the missed calls that hurt their team more than the other but you don't win or lose on a single call - it takes an entire game. The same goes for the Elizabethton/Grainger game - the officiating was terrible. The complaint regarding Grainger's actions that night was that several parents were saying things to the Elizabethton players after the game while pictures were being taken - that was uncalled for. I would say the same if it had been Elizabethton fans saying things to Grainger players. I have at times seen/heard our fans say and do things and I was ashamed for them. Even the students at times say and do things they shouldn't but they are kids - adults should know better. Edited by CycloneMom

    • Yea I agree I will say tho I was a big “ v “ fan if an  opening ever did happen I think it would’ve been good to see him have a shot coming from a power house like Oakland. I’m sure he’s learned a lot from Kevin.  I bet he would bring a really good offense scheme IMO But after all this I just dunno anymore.  Whatever happens with the rumors an such if it did come to and opening I think this messes it all up.  The board members dreams are slowly slipping away now. I haven’t lived there for awhile I just hear what I hear, but my question is would there be any good potential candidates?? That’s why I don’t understand why people want b s out so bad who else could do any better ?? IMO there’s nothing attractive about it? As I stated earlier I went to the last game last year and taking a leak in a porta Potty is pretty sad and still nothing being done they say ..
    • I have a sophomore that can do 177 (preferred) or 192. Sent you an email.
    • speaking of board members how can a man get arrested 12 days ago and still be head coaching a team in TC school system? looks like your right about the tc board members. I bet it would be different if they had a kid on the team
