MURFREESBORO - Led by Signal Mountain with a singles and doubles in the finals, Chattanooga can bring home six singles and doubles state titles Friday at BlueCross Spring Fling XX.

Playing at Old Fort Park, the Eagles have seniors Adam Wolfe and Forrest Hooten in D-I AAA doubles, while Kylila Tucker plays for the girls singles crown.

In D-II action, Baylor’s Samantha Caswell is the defending singles champ, while GPS duo of Emma McCallie-Michelle Fleenor and McCallie’s Daniel Pare are in their first state finals.

D-II A ... Siblings Lorenzo Rollhauser (soph.) and Niki Rollhauser, Jr.) are in the finals ... Lorenzo in boys singles and Niki in girls doubles ... last time a brother and sister won state titles in same year was 2000 when Andrew Rogers (McCallie) won D-II singles and sister Aden won D-II doubles with Andrea Saul for GPS.

Can Defending Champs Repeat ... ? - Lucas Spickard (Christ Presbyterian) and Skylar McDonald (Fayetteville) in D-I A-AA and Samantha Caswell (Baylor ) in D-II AA are favored to win their second singles titles ..

All four seniors are playing their final high school match … Wolfe-Hooten reached the state semis in 2012.

In an all Chattanooga semis, Wolfe-Hooten topped Erwin Kupris-Bailey Lenoir (East Hamilton) to advance to the finals ... Kupris and Lenoir are the largest doubles team standing 6-3 and 6-4.

Girls Singles – Noon

Kylila Tucker (Signal Mtn., Soph) vs. Sylar McDonald (Fayetteville, Fr.)

First singles finalist for SM ... McDonald won state singles last year as an 8th grader

D-II AA

D-II AA Boys Singles – 10 a.m.

Daniel Pare (McCallie) vs. Marshall Sharp (Memphis Univ. School)

Pare beat defending champ Will Sims (MUS) in the semis, 6-2, 6-2 … second straight year a McCallie-MUS singles final ... Sharp won state singles in 2010 and 2011, but lost in last year’s semifinals

Last Time … a McCallie player won state singles was Andrew Rogers in 2000

Caswell is the defending state champion …

Both have dad’s who played high school tennis … Ned Caswell and Dan Maclellan ….

Hannah’s grandfather – Hugh O. Maclellan - played tennis at McCallie and Vanderbilt … her aunt, Elizabeth Maclellan, was a 3x state doubles champ at CCS

D- II AA Girls Doubles - Noon

Emma McCallie-Michelle Fleenor (GPS) vs. Emma Alsup-Liza Southwick (Harpeth Hall)

GPS duo is 3-0 vs. Alsup-Southwick … McCallie-Fleenor won the regular season match and the East-Middle Region finals …

McCallie-Fleenor beat Baylor’s McCall Morgan-Harper Caswell in the semis and are now 3-0 against their Baylor rivals …

Alsup-Southwick beat the West Region champions from Hutchison (Francie George-Gracie Donoghue), 6-0, 6-1 in the other semis.

Last Time … a Harpeth Hall team has won the state doubles was 1986-87 when current HH coach Buffy Baker and Mary Lauren Barfield won back-to-back titles

Last Time II … a GPS team has won state doubles was 2000, Aden Rogers-Andrea Saul

D-I AAA Boys ... Brentwood senior Maxx Lipman is the heavy favorite to win singles ... has lost two games in four sets ... Lipman won the Boys National 18s Clay Courts with Sean Karl (Ravenwood) last summer ...

Colorful Uniforms - best attire of the day goes to Unicoi County girls doubles team of Mallory Jackson-Nela Helkova who wore matching black top with neon yellow visors and neon yellow shorts with black dots.

In Irish Goodbye … Notre Dame assistant coach Gary McIntyre coached his last match for the Irish Thursday as sisters Katie and Sarah Joyce lost in the semis to Nela Helkova-Mallory Jackson (Unicoi Co.) …

The Joyce sisters had a good run at a state title, including a region title by beating defending state champions Ellie and Hannah Henry.
