Lost two starting offensive lineman, fullback, receiver, best linebacker, fast safety, dt, and a corner. Returning tons of talent but lacking size at every position. To compete with the top teams in the west the lions need to eat and hit the weight room, even if they play other sports. Spring ball will be fun to see if team can run the ball because baseball will have most of the skill guys. Work hard Lions. Hope the lion cubs grow some teeth and get mean. Tough schedule again. Mckenzie, stangs, Gleason, bruceton, westview, Trenton, wcarroll, union city, obion county.

I was waiting for someone else to say it first yso.  If they go 5-5 it would surprise me.  I think you will see a lot of younger kids playing next year and I mean freshmen and sophomores.  The junior and senior classes just don't have many kids in them that will see a lot of playing time.  Got some talent coming back but they will have to work their tails off to get bigger, stronger and faster if they are going to compete in our district.  Skill guys will be good but another year of wondering about o-line and our defense will lose almost everybody.  Will have to wait and see how those young guys work in the off season.  I believe the coaches will have them competing but don't know how many we will win.  I really hope they surprise me.

I say 9-1. There is a ton of kids that sat on bench because of strength that will surprise people if they work hard. Sims tbow Phillips Mansfield Yates roudabush cooper, Mitchell, hansel. Peltz, etc. then all the freshman starters last year who weren't very strong... Williams, Quincy, dresser, Yates

May be right, but there is a big jump usually from freshman to sophomore year and if that happens then the lions could be a surprise team again. Very talented class. Kinda like this years senior class did when we went to state.

I hope you are right hog. Those sophomores grew quite a bit from their 8th grade year til now.  If they work hard you could be right.  They do have some talent but we are losing so much on defense.  Who will replace Caldwell?  Offensively I think we will be fine.  I know you like the ground and pound but I don't see that happening.  Think we will throw it around ALOT.

My guess will be Nanney and Mitchell at middle backers. Probably be warren and k Williams at outside.

I keep wondering when Obion will start playing like they are capable of, Peabody and Martin will bring a lot back. We know what UC will have, McKenzie is senior heavy like us so.

    • Tax payer dollars are paid for certified teachers to "teach" and then coach. The primary job is to teach.  There are some district that ay awesome supplements and others that don't. Dyersburg and Dyer County are pretty close if I remember correctly. I would imagine that Football and basketball are above $10,000 now.  I've heard that Milan is $20,000 for boys basketball. I would imagine that football is more than that in Milan.  Collierville has camps that coaches get paid extra for. 3 camps a year, 100 kids a camp, $30,000 right there.  There are places like Memphis-Shelby County schools where the supplements are garbage even for the head coaches. I made less than $3,000 as the head assistant at Germantown in 2015 when we were 26-4 and one of the best teams in the Southeast. As a head middle school coach next year I will make between $4-5,000 at a municipal in Shelby County.  Coaches should be compensated for the jobs that are required but lets keep in mind that they are educators first.  It's pretty frustrating to other teachers that work their tale off teaching 6-7 classes a day to watch someone roam campus, not teach (or have very minimal responsibilities), and get paid the same (more with supplements) as a person who has the some years of experience or sometimes less.
    • This will get coaches leaving the profession very quickly if this kid wins this case. This is absurd...
    • yeah money aint right there anymore
    • I suppose you are correct but from my understanding it was going to be a situation of the HC saying yay or nay to every play
