Right. Keep telling yourself that. Maybe 1 that just transferred in, but you need to count the ones that just happened to move into South Pitt, like say the twins.

The Mitchells,My bad I guess, brothers not twins.

The full back that is a senior this year's dad played at SP and his nickname was The Bus when he was carrying the ball for SP because he used to take defenders for a ride.

So what is the deal with North Jackson? I have heard that name and SP mentioned in the same sentence many times.

The QB this year, Kit Grider, transferred from NJ.  It is in the Alabama County that borders Marion County.  Anyway, they had a coaching change and then the coach that was hired quit the job so instead of waiting for the trainwreck that was coming, he transferred.

Bottomline again, haters continue to come out of the wood works talking about something they know nothing about.  I played football and graduated at SP with the dad of the Mitchell boys that were seniors this year so that one is hilarious.

Honestly, if these young men on the 2014 team work hard in the off season and in practice, they might surprise a few people. Early season games against good opponents may be tough to win just because of all the new faces, but I think by season's end the Pirates may make a statement again.

McKenna and Chase Blevins. That's a nice place to start !

    • Yea, they have Davey quaking in his boots. Someday they'll even have a winning season.
    • Guessing this may have been the closest I can think of...... Bill Harlow: (from wiki) After leaving OSU, Harlow went on to win three national titles in freestyle wrestling.  He won a silver medal at the 1970 World Wrestling Championships, falling to Soviet Gennady Strakhov in the finals at 90 kg.
    • The Simpson brothers had good freestyle careers.

    • Maybe some of the historians can get on here and help me out, but has anybody from Tennessee ever had as much success in an international style as Boykin? The only other Tennessee native I can remember competing for world team spots is the older Boykin in freestyle and he wasn't nearly as close as Nick has been to making world teams.
