Wing T Offense is Not a 6a State Title Offense.

All this talk of offense is a mute point when Whitehaven/Ridgeway/East rolls in with 3-4 defensive linemen you can not single block leaving the linebackers running free to make plays.  Who needs great offenses?  Just look at the SEC, does Alabama have a great offense?  The D-Line is huge(pun intended) the Wing T can't angle block great ones, the option can't read them, the spread can't pass protect against them and the power game can't double everybody.

When will you guys be back in contention? No shade, I just hope to be able to see a different team from Middle TN come playoff time.

it very well could be somebody different from Middle TN next year. It was Hendersonville 3 years ago, Ravenwood for 2 straight years, now Oakland. So history says it could be somebody different. Maybe Independence next year in 6A. History also says that Maryville will represent the East & Whitehaven will represent the West. Idk when other teams from those two ends of the state will ever get over those two teams in the near future.

A lot of skill players coming back this next year but graduation hit our O and D lines hard. Hopefully some guys will step up..

Realistically In 2-3 years we'll have another opportunity, got a couple of really solid classes working their way up..

Maybe we'll see you guys in the Quarterfinals or Semifinals in a couple of years. Don't be running the Wing-T tho  :thumb:  :thumb:

    • Yes. I have seen that cause problems. In my last coaching stop, if a coach resigned they got them into another building. Sometimes the very next day. Welcome.
    • Agree. The man literally sacrificed time, moments, memories you can't get back with his own family for every single athlete at that school. (and many others) To those that continue to be negative about him and continue to bring him up; He's been loyal, hardworking and just his entire coaching career. Ask anyone that actually has a leg to stand on in regard to Coach.
    • Egotistical? That's a new one.  It's funny, I'm friends with two of the younger coaches that he "ran off" as you say. In fact, he helped them find jobs, encouraged them to do what was best for their growing families, provided advice, support and still does to this day.

    • Track has always been big at OR. Ran off about 7 straight titles in the 60s. Your hate for Gaddis runs deep, huh? What did he ever do to you, to make you disdain him that much? You can’t seem to stop talking about the guy. He’s living rent free in your head. Might wanna get that checked out, you don’t wanna go to the grave with that on your heart.
