Updates on spring practice?

Yesterday was the first day , shoulder pads and helmets only. Though a long way from perfect the offense looked amazingly good for day one! The O-line is big and fairly experienced; it should be fine. The running backs as  expected looked very, very good. Recievers also will be more than adequate( the return of our speed merchant helps). Three kids are working at QB and each brings something different to the table. All showed a lot of promise and it will be interesting to see how this plays out. On the defensive side we have a lot of returners. Replacing two very good outside LBs, a middle LB, and a safety will be an important goal this spring. Missed Counce Jr. Look forward to his recovery and return-- it isn't the same out there without him.Rain today may cause a change in schedule.

I like what I've seen so far. Only been two practices, but you can already see the potential in this group. I agree with olddevil that the offense is pleasantly looking ahead of schedule, especially the line and backs. I've also been impressed with croasmuns passing. I knew he had a solid arm, but man, that kid has a laser. Also impressed with his competition in sophomore qb Tyler Allen. He's gonna be a good one whether its this year or the next couple.

Gotta like our outlook on D as well with 6 starters back to go along with some nice returning depth.

Looking forward to seeing how the rest of the spring plays out.

I'm a bit late with this, but we had two Inman Bulldogs who were selected to the Tennessee Future Stars 8th grade roster. Congrats and good luck to those young men! I'm sure they will represent the community well. Looking forward to watching them in Patriot red over the next few years!

I know that Henry County and Milan will be there. I believe Stewart County is going to be there this fall as well. Go Rebels!

Unofficially, I have heard Dresden, Murray High and McCracken County, KY.Several very interesting matchups are possible.

    • As I said somewhere earlier in the thread, the original plans had no outdoor athletic facilities being part of the campus.  The original plan was for HVA to use facilities at nearby schools.  Very late in the process they came up with a plan and found budget to have minimal facilities and crammed them in to space that never was intended for athletic facilities.
    • Agreed, the way the field is turned you get the evening sun blasting right into the press box making filming a nightmare there, plus its so low.  The field is land locked and parking is a nightmare too. Seems like Knox County could have done a lot better there with the design and the quality.
    • I think this upcoming team may be pretty good, they will definately be better up front and if they can replace Dozier, Heyward and Rembert, they can be real good. They have the same strange schedule, but this time with 5 straight home games. The road games at Jeff County, Powell will be tough to open up with and the back side at Bearden is the tough game there.  One question I had if anyone knows: There has been some talk of an indoor practice facility in the past, with the new track area now more of a track area, that kind of leaves a need for a football practice area. Just sayin....
    • I find it hard to believe that 70% of a schools enrollment is zoned for another school district
    • I was told that the indoor facility is happening regardless of the vote on the taxes but it would be a much bigger project with more funds if they vote goes through
