Collinwood 2014

Collinwood is working hard to learn a new system and recruit players to the team cause some guys got hurt bad last year and decided togive up football. Its kind of a work in progress but the wood alwayshas good talent so they will climb back to the top sooner rather thanlater...they have a good soph quarterback in Tyler Robertson and a reallytalented running back in Clayton Lockley...also hoping to get a couple ofbig freshmen linemen coached up and ready to contribute

Like I said before. It was a rough game for CA at Collinwood last year. I'm glad they travel to us this year. I figure that we will not be on each other's schedule after this year. We picked this game up last year on short notice after another AA dropped us. Should be another good game.

Yeah, I can hardly blame you for wanting to ignore the history of

this series!

Ignore? I can assure you those kids knew the all time series record going into last year's game. But it's not '89, '95 or 2001, they don't care. After seeing Collinwood's antics at the Cornersville scrimmage (talking back to coach, laying down on the sideline, zero discipline) they had no doubt that they were going to whip Cwood in the opener.....and they did. Hopefully the new coach will renew this rivalry and not run away from it like the old coach did.

Last year's Trojans became what Coach Statom claimed to have inherited his first year as head coach. I wish Coach well at Deshler, Jake is an excellent coach and even better man.. Bart was the first in a line of great qb's Collinwood seemed to roll out year after year until the last few. He was also first QB at Collinwood to learn from Collinwood's greatest Coach Ever,,,, Bill Doty...Coach Littrell will be  fine... Best of luck to C'wood

so you have scheduled Adamsville, Lewis County, Clarksville academy, Columbia academy and mt pleasant like Collinwood did this year?

Ps, why do you want to play schools in a smaller classification...chicken?

Lol, says the fan of the team that dropped us so they wouldn't get whipped again. BTW, we played Page and Cascade....both playoff teams in 4A & 3A, try again. I'll trade them for CA & Mt. Pleasant any day.

I don't really blame you for wanting to play smaller schools, you might get a win or two that way I knew after the way we defused the rockets at the wood in 2012 we would never see you guys in Collinwood again Edited by TheMirrorThief

Continuing to refer yourself as a "smaller" school doesn't change the fact that our enrollment numbers are not much different. And trust me, we would LOVE to come to Collinwood in a couple weeks, but I guess a trip to Lauderdale Co. AL to play a larger, better team will help us more come playoff time. The blowout with JV's playing the second half at Collinwood wouldn't help us very much.

you may travel to Lauderdale co. AL and play a better team don't know about that but you will play a much smaller school Lauderdale Co. enrollment is only 279(smaller than c'wood) and Forrest has 450 plus I believe

I don't know about this year but last year if I'm not mistaken WC and Cwood both had 303 students.

dude's team beat a two win Collinwood team and now they are ready to join the SEC...and he cant wait to forget all the times the rockets crashed like North Korea missiles against the wood.  Now I know why they call them rockets...all that freaking hot air

Why in freaking heck would Collinwood want to travel 100 miles to play Chapel Hill in a meaningless out of district game when they got a similar sized school and a long standing rivalry twenty miles or less down the highway that will draw a huge gate.  Plus Collinwood only has four home games so playing Wilson is a gift to the fans that want to go but don't like doing a two hour drive???

    • He may have possibly said that to get the best out of him. Back when I was in school word got out I was going to transfer and Coach Story popped off and ask Coach Wilson in front of the team if Maryville was going to get a jock strap in return on this trade. That got back to me and I got fired up and stayed just to show them up. Now today Coach Story is one of my best friends.
    • Dylan's Dad, I'm glad you replied. I wanted to reply but wasnt willing to take the bait. There were 20 wrestlers on the team. I may be mistaken and correct me if I'm wrong but I believe 5 of the 20 attend McCallie right now and one will next year. At most, there are/were 6 kids on that team who attend McC. That leaves 14 other team members who have ZERO affiliation with McC (outside of maybe some friends) who represented our state to the best of their ability and wrestled their butts off that weekend. That weekend was a first for Tennessee and obviously a small step in the right direction for us as a state. Congratulations TEAM TN BLACK!
    • Danny Wilson is the only one that come's to mind but I don't know where he is at now.
    • I am pro coach all day long but there are some knucklehead hires for sure.
    • This is a great question. The retirement seemed a little premature. I do not know the coach personally, but I hope he has found what he is looking for. He is a fine Christian man with a lot of principle and morals about him. I wish him nothing but the best. There are some players in the box for the next coach. This is going to be interesting to see how it plays out.
