Oh.....well, I will believe that when it happens.....all I heard last year was that a group of highly touted freshmen were set to leave Murvil and go to WB, and we all know how that turned out.

I'm no expert on the zoning rules, but I would assume the loose zoning rules in the county are the same as they are for the city, with exception of the tuition, of course.....I would assume the no tuition thing would be because even Murvil city addresses are located in Blount County, therefore county taxes are being paid.  If Murvil didn't charge a tuition for kids living out of the city, I would suspect that many city residents would just move out of the city to avoid the city taxes and still send their kids to Murvil, resulting in a budget crunch.  According to the city manager 5 years ago, .87 cents out of every $1.00 of tax money went to the schools, and everything else was operating on the other .13 cents,  so I would think that Murvil is forced to charge a tuition to keep from losing tax revenue.
