Ethan Thomas elizabethton high school

6'1" 215 running back

5 games played

88 carries for 1040 yards

11.8 ypc

Average y/g 208

15 touchdowns

Average quarters played 2 1/2

Thomas can set the all-time Northeast Tennessee record for rushing yards by gaining 122 in Friday’s game against Happy Valley. He has 5,408 in his career, second only to West Greene’s Dalton Boles (5,530).

One scary thing for opponents about Thomas is the 6-foot-1, 215-pound senior keeps getting better. Each game he appears to be doing things at a higher level, getting harder to stop. This year, Thomas has already gained 1,040 yards and has totaled 17 touchdowns in five games.

And despite stacked boxes and Thomas-focused defenses, he is averaging 11.8 yards per carry.

Excerpt from Johnson city press article.

This kid makes defenses look silly.drags multiple defenders for extra yardage. Breaks tackles like no one I've ever seen. If you haven't seen him run the football go to YouTube and watch some highlights.

As always Tennessee fails to get big commits from the hot bed of talent in Memphis. Under armour all American josh mcmillon from Whitehaven. Dillon Mitchell from white station committed to Oregon yesterday. Drew Richmond committed to Olemiss. And a boatload of other BCS recruits from the MTown Wil not be at UT. They don't market themselves well in Memphis

What does Butch Jones have to do differently in Memphis? He's pulling them in from everywhere else and everybody seems to really like him. I haven't studied the two players that commited to Oregon but I do think it takes a different type player to play in the SEC. I would like to see Tennessee pull more players from Memphis though. Whats it gonna' take?
