Upward Stars - Basketball Club  (Forming Teams for Current 6th-10th grade athletes)

 

  • Intentional focus on the development of players mentally, athletically, spiritually, and socially
  • Certified Coaches - current coaching staff/advisors include:
    • Ryan Cahak - former Syracuse University student-athlete and college assistant at Colgate University, Univ. of Tennessee, and Lipscomb University
    • Scott Farrell -  Ravenwood High School
    • Andrew James - Ravenwood High School
    • Cal James -  Bellevue Middle School
    • Marcus Kinnon  - John Early Middle School
    • Tim Kramm - former Tennessee Temple athlete
    • Jeremy Miller -  Meigs Middle School
    • Picasso Simmons - former Murray State student-athlete

Tryout #3 for Current 7TH AND 8TH Grade Athletes:

SUNDAY, MARCH 2ND:

7TH GRADE: 6:45 - 8:00

8TH GRADE: 8:00 - 9:00

Franklin Fieldhouse (1850 General George Patton Drive, Franklin, TN) - formerly USBA

Program Fee - $449 (sibling/2nd child is $349)

  • 6 Tournaments
  • Stars Gear:  Jersey, Shorts, Performance Tee-Shirt and Socks
  • 1-2 Practices per Week
  • Maximum Team Size:  10
  • Certified Coaches
  • Food Vouchers for Most Area Tournaments
  • Financial Assistance may be Available  (e.g. 3 monthly payments, partial scholarships, etc.)

 

 

Tryouts for Current 9th and 10th Grade Athletes:

    • I think the OC is a guy the he brought from Fulton with him. I am not sure though. I have heard a lot of conflicting information. It seems like a couple of coaches that he hired have since been let go.

    • If someone needed their grades pumped up surley it would have to be for someone needing it to get to another level. If your intending on going to work right after high school it wouldn't matter. Why would someone in their right mind think if they screwed it up in high school that their ready for college. It has to be for an athlete to get them over the fence to get in and from that point the school their going to will cheat them through the rest of the way for their athletic skills just like the rest.
    • The new school will be on that road behind Home Depot next to a church. I'm wondering if this could take from Greenback or could it be the end of Greenback, they only have 200 students.
    • Yeah it will take the county kids in that area that were going to lenior city. They will move down to 4a I think
