Hard to believe that WC can continuously be this stupid.  If what I am hearing is indeed true, whoever made this decision is a MORON.  There were legitimate coaches interested in the job and they have chosen to hire locally.  My sympathy to the players at WC.

not sure you can blame todd wilmore. rumor has it he pushed for the coach who is living a couple of counties away. i think he was "influenced" to hire locally. the last few coaches were not local so the board wanted to keep it close. guess you can't blame them. from what i know about todd he is a good guy.

I find it odd that so many in this thread are talking about how they had this homerun "400 game winner" hire available yet no names are mentioned. Who was this homerun hire that was available?

This local hire will prove to be very good for WC. The guy can flat out coach and he knows the landscape. The kids will play hard and be competitive immediately.

I heard that there were several good coaches that applied and interviewed. This is not my neck of the woods so I am unfamiliar with the WC hire. They kept it local and that is their right to do so as they are in charge of the county.

I do know one of the coaches that applied and he is solid (lives a couple counties away), he would have been a great hire but I am sure that he will bounce back and find a good job.

I think you have to blame anyone who stands by and lets stupidity run rampant!  Again, WHO is in control?  AD, Director of Schools, Board Member(s)?  Would someone please say "I am in charge and I made this decision."

From what I have heard, these 2 hires were the AD's top choice and not the boards. The board was letting the AD do his job.

    • Yep..could possibly have 3 teams ranked in top ten in the same four team district.
    • He had an opportunity to be the OC at TC without final say in the offensive gameplan. How does that work? Smh. Head Coaches are public figures regardless of the community size, and yes there are some out there, it’s irrelevant and not fair to them to name them on here. Also why is said “head coach” the head coach of the MS baseball program to begin with? Oh because no one wants it. As for the Lebanon question, I know what I’ve been told so just going off here say, some of the boosters were not happy with his roster decisions and wanted him out. Although he lead them to 20+ wins in multiple seasons
    • A head coach in the school system? No I dont think so. Head coaches are public figures in small communities. Not trying to slander, but this is an actual question. Do you know why he was forced to resign at Lebanon? This was his second chance.  He already left trousdale once and had an opportunity to come back a couple of years ago but spoiled that.
    • Are you perfect? Nope no one is, at the end of the day there are several teachers/coaches and even some in the Trousdale County school system that have DUI’s on their record. You’re correct on it being a bad mistake and it unfortunately could have ended horribly. While you consider the consequences minimal, I can assure you they are not. Ultimately I hope and have faith that he will learn from it and use it to better himself.
