6AAA Softball Cookeville Stone Sparta

Looks like Cookeville has this District wrapped up!  

No competition from Stone, Sparta, Warren Co, Cumberland Co, or Rhea Co. 

Stone good pitching, pretty good hitting team, well coached.  

Sparta - all you have to do is wait around for pitcher to tire out around third or fourth inning and you can hit her balls to Egypt! 

The rest are just waiting around.  Pretty poor district all around.

Cookeville is good, but I would not count my chickens before they hatch.  Anything can happen, come tournament time.

I don't count my chickens before they hatch, but, I am looking at each team and what they have offered so far - Rhea Co has a couple of pretty good slappers but weak the rest of the way.

Cumberland has a slow team, not a lot of confidence there, Warren, some of their troubles are deep and have nothing to do with softball, so it trickles down to players, Stone has had some trouble with players, but overall good coached team. Sparta has one pitcher I guess, have not seen any other and she can not last after three or four innings, weak in hitting. and Cookeville is the best overall team, hitting and fielding.  Senior leadership for Cookeville.

Winning the State Tourney is always the GOAL with anyone, but being realistic, nobody below Cookeville in this district has a chance in, well, you know...........

I agree, pretty bold comments before district tourney time, where anything can happen. However, I do agree that the district is weak overall. My question is how well can they do against 5-AAA teams come region time?

Cookeville scored 1 run earlier this week against the current #3 team from one of the local AA districts, they don't seem like a powerhouse either.

Tournament time is here.  It is time to show what you have on the dirt.  There has been a lot of talk, but the next few weeks will show who can back it up on the field.  Good luck to all.

U wod think that the way u talk that Cookeville is jus awesome and don't get me wrong they r a good team but it's not like they jus run away with every game they played in district. I myself wod love to see the other 5 teams get stronger, but u really can't count a few of the others out jus yet. Jus my opinion.

Well, I hope this is a great tourney for all the teams involved - just not sure that will be the case. 

I do not think Cookeville is awesome, as ryan665 thought I was saying - read the comments I wrote - Cookeville is good - in this district - but this district is weak.  I don't see anyone coming out of this district doing well against the other district teams, they are just too strong.  Look, if you will, at some of the teams in this district and be honest with your assessments and I believe we can all agree this is not the strongest district around - if you think differently, then you have not seen other teams from other districts play.  I realize Cookeville did not blow away other teams completely in district play, but, when they play their game, they are the best in this district.  Second best is probably Stone and then a toss up with the others.  Some outstanding players on all teams, just not enough good players to make up for the weak ones. And, then there is the drama on the teams - which I have heard from all coaches but two in this district that goes on daily.  My kid plays and does good enough, but not the strongest player, but her love for the game and her hustle and dedication to her team can not make up for the some of the crap on the team from the me me me  players and parents.  If we could cut the jealous players and the players and parents with drama all around them, then we might, just might have a good district of softball players.  The drama queens are killing the game of softball in this district as well as some others.

I will agree with that my bad for jumping to conclusions. I agree with all of that, that if the drama was gone and the best players were bein played then ther wod be some better competition in this district. Like I have told mine do what u do and don't worry bout the rest stay away from the drama and play ur game. My only job is to help mine  get to the next level.

Hey ryan665, you are a class act!  Thank you for your response.  I appreciate a good conversation concerning the game, the good and the bad and I appreciate someone who is willing to state their opinion. 

Now, I hope we will have a great tourney with some good upsets along the way!

I love the game. I love the passion most girls put into it. I love how it makes mine smile. I heard they were tryin to play district tourney Thursday and Friday night so Cookeville seniors wondnt miss prom on Saturday have u heard that yet
