gobears89
Can they improve on last years season? New QB and new DC so spring should be fun to watch. I think the oline will be very good and the skill guys are good but not as deep as last year. Big question can the d get better? I know the new DC will be more of a players coach and he has been under the old guy for 20 years so not much lost in x's and o's. Personnel will be the key in my mind, they need some of those JV guys to step up and help the d improve and can the coachs get the right guys in the right positions in time for the season opener (Bearden on the road with revenge on their mind should be tough). The offense will be very good so that may buy some time defensively to get the right guys in place, but with Bearden DB and the east tn allstars all in the 1st half of the season they better have a good spring and summer or they could be 2-3 to start the year. Early early season prediction Bears 14-1 State Champs. But you never know they may win them all! GoBears!!!
jake
Who will be the QB this year?
SweetScience
Will be good like always I'm sure, but as long as Maryville is around they will at least be 2nd best coming out of East TN. Governm
I see Sevier County being a little down this year. Here's why: lost their starting QB, lost that kid to Gallatin, a few really tough games on the schedule, and all the question marks on defense... At best I see Sevier County going 8-2 and losing to DB and Maryville. But They always have some talent and good coaching and benefit from playing in a weak district so I dont see any scenario where they dont make the playoffs. Thats how it may seem 91 but the QB Austin Rice (senior) could be better than the last guy. Also they have 2 juniors that have great potential so the QB stat machine is very well stocked. May even be a QB battle not sure. The kid to gallatin is a lose as far as talent but the way the bears play, they spread it out almost too much for that kind of kid. He wasnt used enough last year in my opinion but again thats how the Bears Offensive system works. The defense can only get better, they were real bad last season they gave up 300 plus rushing in half's of games. So better Defense I think is probable. I think they can be as good or better the next 2 years, then they will be young but still talented. GoBears!! BatmanDB
Your defense will have to be better then improved to compete with those east tn allstars. No stone can be left unturned for any of us to compete with the Rebs.I think you will be strong as you are most every year going back to when my step brother played many years ago for the bears.Good luck for all but that one matchup that I have to pull for the Tribe. gobears89
Which guy was Banks? The big RB ? No, fast little guy. You may be thinking of hayes or paul. Thats my point the offense is like a no name offense you cant really recognize a star in the system other than maybe the QB who is not necessarily a star just a beneficiary. Losing banks does not hurt like it could or would most teams. Trust me the offense is in good shape. The defense is the question mark in terms of improving on last season. GoBears!!!!
