tailormade643
Ok I have to say it. The head coach of this team is representing district 8AAA but what about no players from this great district. Are there not any players worthy of attending or did the coaches of this Great district drop the ball? Explain Please!
wingman10
Congrats to Justin Sheffield for being named the National Gator Ade player of the yr. An award that a lefty on the Dodgers got back in

LeatherBalls
There were kids from 8AAA not available due to being out of town/draft. Getting 20-24 kids out of 75 nominees is tough. Some great players are left off due to all kinds of reasons. Some previously mentioned. 38% of 8AAA didn't nominate anyone. It is a good AAA squad. tailormade643
Terrible explanation of why there are no 8aaa kids on this team. I see a kid listed on the roster that is injured but your telling me you can't nominate kids because they are going to be out of town or the draft. Give me a break! But what's even worse is the coaches of the district not even stepping up and having a voice period. I'm sure every senior on every team contributed on the success of the Coaches of 8aaa and not one was commended for it. I have lost all respect for every Coach in the self proclaimed best district in middle Tennessee. DISTRICT 8AAA. This is discusting in every way shape and form. I feel terrible for those kids that poured their heart for years for a Coach that didn't even have the _______ to even nominate them! SOUTHERNFRIED
Having went and watched both games yesterday, the quality of the players were high. I dont have the first clue on who was asked to play in, who was asked and declined, doesnt matter. The games and game play were good. This invite tourney was also in competition this weekend with a East Cobb tourney, and a Perfect Game tourney. All those draw high quality athletes and Im sure some were invited that had other plans, including the draft........but, if a player didnt get nominated, thats the coaches fault. It was listed on just about every website that the coaches I know look at. But until you sit there and listen to how some coaches dont even want to nominate their own players for all district and have to be talked into it, well, you just dont realize how valuable a coach is that pulls for their players......and the show that Hubbuch from Wilson Central and Shrode put on from CPA, ya missed a treat. I know for those of us that played at Cumberland or go to a lot of games have all seen balls hit houses, but its pretty cool when 18 yr olds are doing that, plus hitting power lines, and dump trucks, thats just good stuff. ..................When I get all the photos I took processed and posted, I will post the link here and in the A Vs AA thread as well. LeatherBalls
Never said 8AAA didn't have nominations. Sheffield was invited but declined. Another was out of the country. Just examples. The kid you said was injured was already in to play. Got hurt the day I posted the roster. You had some nominated, some not I am sure, but the level of talent was very very good. 6 kids invited (4 that accepted and played) were drafted this year. AAA is very hard. Gonna get some right, gonna miss some as well. You can't make it just perfect. Plus, it gives people like you to talk negative about and pick to death here on this site. Your district had a 1st round selection. You also had a few I wished were selected, but when you are stacked up against kids from the Tennessee River to Cumberland County, it is hard. You know, I don't owe you or anyone any explanation. Why, because I organized this to do one thing.......celebrate the careers and seasons of a few when NOBODY else was nor has. I will listen to any positive idea or suggestion you may have. I am all ears. I want it to grow. It has more than doubled from two years ago. The best part: EVERY SINGLE PLAYER WAS RESPECTFUL AND APPRECIATIVE! When you get an email from a parent thanking you and telling you that his son, "Had the most fun playing ball he has had in a long time." and that kid is playing DI or DII baseball next year speaks for itself. As for Frasier, I named him the head coach for one reason.................The title is for show. He worked with the others to successfully get every kid in the game and play as equal as possible. That is a challenge in itself, plus he was THE FIRST AAA COACH TO VOLUNTEER TO DO IT!!!! They got a shirt, lanyard, and a Baseball America magazine. You people have ZERO clue what you have in your coaches. I don't give a darn how many games or district titles they have won. Brad has always stepped up to coach (volunteer) showcases and events when others run from it. I am very appreciative to every coach that took the challenge to make this event work. They are the minority. You'd be shocked at how many run from it. You don't like something, you blame me, not these coaches on these All-Star staffs. THEY DID NOT SELECT NOR INVITE A SINGLE PLAYER. They see the roster like everyone else.....the day I posted them on coacht.com Thanks to all that came out. It was a fun day. Biggest crowd yet!! Eddie
Well put sir! I saw the hard work you put in the Friday evening before the game -- getting Stockton Field ready for play. You are to be commended for your efforts. The all-star games were fun & the kids had a blast -- what else could someone want?

Let me say thank you for putting this event on FREE OF CHARGE TO THE PLAYERS! My son played in this event and was happy to put on his school uni one last time! He was able to play with several kids he had played with and against over the years and had one last great time as a high school player! I think this is a great event and I hope it grows even bigger. This is a great opportunity for kids who have put in many years of hard work to get some acknowledgement for their efforts. My son had a great coach but in my invovlement over the years I do know how difficult it is to get coaches to participate, after the sesason is over and you can only beg so much to get coaches to nominate their players. I'm sure some good players were missed but all 4 teams were talented and there were 2 good games. Everyone involved deserved to be there. Thank you again and I will be in the stands every year that you put this on! Thank you again for giving my son one more high school opportunity as well! SOUTHERNFRIED
LB, ya done a great job, like I said, I was in the dug out for both games. The talent level was there to play, and for those parents and friends that came out, I think they all had a fun day. I know they were having fun in the dug out lol........oh and all the photos are up on facebook on my wall, I will try and have a flicker account so the parents can download all they want. If they download off my wall, just please send a friend request so I dont have 2000 emails to go through. Hope yall enjoy them, Im still learning. https://www.facebook.com/randy.dixon.35/photos_albums ... all the games are listed in their own folders, the AAA game has 2 folders. Plus the homer run derby, then the AAvsA game. Thanks again -Randy Dixon
