blazer1set
Everybody in the BIG 2 opens outside the conference. Here are the predictions: DB @ Farragut - DB wins by 20, way too much speed for the Admirals to handle.Science Hill (OPEN) - Stacy plays starters well into the 4th quarter, SH wins big.Boone hosts Elizabethton - Elizabethton by 20, then halftime occurs...Central hosts South Greene - Cougars win this one simply because the law of averages says so.Crockett @ Sullivan East - Crockett wins by 14.Tenn High @ Johnson County - Vikings struggle early but manage a win, TH by 14.Volunteer @ Happy Valley - Falcons get a much needed win as well. So overall, the BIG 2 does pretty well on week zero.

To start with these two teams usually have a knock down drag out fight when they meet. If Farragut has any kind of passing game at all they will light it up. For a team that is known for having a weak secondary this could be the worst I've seen. Can't cover or tackle. But then again maybe they have fixed it in the past week. I think DB & Farragut could go either way. The Betsy & Boone game will be a lot closer than that and your about right on the rest.
blazer1set
All the internet chatter seems to indicate that Farragut has a good RB and a big slow line, so they won't pass much, therefore DB will be ok if they just stack the box. They sound a lot like Greeneville and DB handled them pretty well in the scrimmage. Ok maybe DB doesn't win by 20 but I still think they win by a very comfortable margin. Farragut has not been a relevant Knox area power in many years. Boone vs Betsy - I think Betsy's #28 scores on two 1st quarter long runs and just sort of takes the air out of Boone's sails, after that Betsy coasts to a win while he sits on the sidelines enjoying some fresh grilled HB's. And no, I have no connection with school concessions, but let me say that Boone is one of the best in the area..... just the smell of burgers grilling when you pull into the parking lot is enough to make you salivate

From what we've seen so far you don't have to be a good passing team to complete passes against DB's secondary. Also from what we've seen so far if that big running back gets past the linebackers he's gone. So I say it'll be a close game that could go either way. Farragut may not be the most powerful team in Knoxville but their always tough to beat.

Cap1
Food is always good, but gonna be a long year for Boone You should have a lock on a 4th place conference finish... again. From the little bit I saw at the jamboree I really don't see anything changing from last years pecking order. This conference is so predictable. I can't wait till the reclassification. THSVikings2004
Is Happy Valley that down? DB 24 Farragut 21 THS 28 Johnson County 14 Betsy 49 Boone 7 SG 14 Sullivan Central 10 Crockett 28 Sullivan East 7 Volunteer 14 Happy Valley 7 Missed the Central pick. Two more to go this week. Not sure how the well the Vikes did. The score sounds rather modest. They'll be in for a big test next week. Crockett looked unimpressive tonight. They tied or trailed nearly the entire game only to take the lead for the 1st time with about 4 minutes left in the 4th to beat a very, very young East squad 26-20. Great game though.
