Cosby at Cloudland

First region match of the year.  Landers are coming off 2 big wins while Cosby is reeling from 2 beat downs.  It would be easy for the landers to be overconfident going into this game but I feel they should take it very seriously.  Avery and Happy Valley were not the strongest opponents in the world.  Cosby lost to 2 teams who in my opinion are better than the two opponents we have faced.  Happy Valley especially did not impress me.  They were severely lacking in athleticism and discipline.  Aside from Garland and Hicks,  they didn't really have any weapons.  My point is the Landers better not think that just because Cosby has gotten steamrolled the last 2 weeks, that they won't be a formidable opponent.  I think with Ole eagle at the helm, anything can happen.  He does a good job of motivating his boys.  I think Cloudland will win the game hands down if they come prepared to take care of buisness.

Good crowd and they came out the 2nd half and played ball. I hope the injury bug stays away this year, this could be shaping up for another great run for the Landers. I know it's really early but it could be another 9-0 run when we roll into Bulldog territory later in the year! Best of luck boys and give it all ya got!!

Pujo yall said same thing last year and yall snuck outta Cosby with a win by a slim margin. PF is no joke! They would beat everyone in our Region by 35 or more. WG is solid. We didn't play well in first half last night or that game is close or maybe even we win. I promise you were better than HV. We're not nearly as bad as the record or scoreboard says. 0-2 against 2 AAA playoff teams. Cloudland 2-0 against 2 teams that couldn't beat PF if you spotted 40 points and probably couldn't hang with WG either. We definitely have our hands full on the Roan Friday but like King said don't expect to roll your hat out and get an easy W on these Eagles!

Good luck Oldeagle. Just have to wait and see but I've got a feeling this one will be over early.I'll say one more thing,it'll take a dang good team to beat either Cloudland or Hampton by 35.

I've been pretty quiet on the hampton threads but I'll say this.  I was waiting for the Oneida game to get an idea on how good Hampton would be this year.  I don't know about pigeon forge but WG couldn't stay on the field with Hampton.  My heart kinda sank when I saw how close they played Oneida.  Oneida is a solid state caliber team and Hampton should have beat them.  I don't know if any of us are ever gonna knock the bulldogs off the throne.  I think alot of it depends on how each team is playing by week 8.  Teams can really improve or they can regress as a season goes along.  I look for the Landers to keep getting better and better as the season goes along.  They're gonna have to improve to have a chance at the region.  We gotta treat cosby just like we're playing hampton friday night.  The opponent shouldn't dictate the way a team plays.

Nice point at the end there king. Young teams have a tendency to read too much into the perceived thoughts of their opponents and either feel over confident or beat before they take the field. Gotta go out and give it your best ever night. I'm sure Hampton is a very good team again this year. They have to be to have gave a team like oneida fits. I promise you NO ONE in our region could give PF a game. They are big , fast , physical, VERY well coached on both sides of the ball and can go 35 players deep and don't drop off at all. Then they have another 35 thats still pretty darn good! None of us can hang with their starters let alone their depth. Better teams in our region might could beat WG but you better score some points cause they are very good on offense. We could have got em. Score didn't look like it but we could have.

You can't always look at the size of school and the amount of depth, it surely don't hurt IF you have quality depth. Look no farther than Greenback and GP. I've heard that Greenback has very little to 0 depth, how did that work out. I'm sure GP will be a tough tast for PF.

If Greenback is fortunate enough to stay healthy, they may just represent the East in the Blue Cross Bowl. I'd love to see um win it,but Idon't think anyone in 1a even has a remote shot at Union City, closest thing would be Nashville Christian.

Avery did beat a 4a team Friday night.Jackson had almost 300 yards of offense and Cloudland kept him in check.Eagle I would take that bet if you want spot Avery 40 points on PF and WG.

I'd give you Avery and 40 against PF if I knew PF wouldn't let of the gas. Wouldn't bet with you against WG. Like I said we could a beat them with a break or 2. I know yall up there never believe me about what kinda teams PF has and I may have stretched it in the past but I'm telling you guys they are the real deal this year.
