1A & 2A AP Polls

What's some opinions?

The 1A poll definitely has the right team on top, but the second best team is missing. The other real mess up is Union City not getting every first place vote. Whoever voted Cloudland #1 could need their head examined.

The 2A poll isn't bad, but I believe Marion County should be higher. Grace #1 is also a head scratcher for me. Trousdale, Grace, Marion Co, Huntingdon, Trinity and Adamsville are my top 6 in no particular order.

I respect the heck out of Hampton, but they were beaten by Oneida who falls in at #11.  Oneida will try to sneak up the ladder game by game.  The opponents they have over the next 4 weeks would only strengthen their case.  All things considered though, them at #11 is about right because they play better when they feel they need to earn respect.  They were a mighty disappointed bunch after the Rockwood game and have since gotten a lot tougher mentally.  We want a re-match with Rockwood and I anticipate we might get it in the play-offs.

I definitely have an issue with us being lower than #2 - no issue at all with who is #1  ;) .

Anyone know how many AP folks are involved in the voting?

There were 18 AP folks involved in the voting, therefore, the 18 first place votes available.

They are Tennessee AP-member sportswriters that were selected. I remember they use to give the names of the voters or at least the papers they wrote for...I don't know why they don't release this information anymore.

Each first place vote is worth 10 points, second place is worth 9 points and all the way down to one point for a tenth place vote.

For Union City not to get all 18 first place votes is one thing, but to have received only 176 total points they were give a second place vote (9 points) AND a fourth place vote (7 points).

OR they were given 2 third place votes (8 points each)

If I were a betting man, I'd say the 2 writers that gave Greenback and Cloudland their first place votes, each gave Union City their third place votes.

If i had a vote, Union City would get my first place vote and I really have no problem with someone from the eastern part of the State giving Greenback a first place vote. But I don't understand Union City receiving a fourth place vote or 2 third place votes.
