buledievlpdrie
I know its football season, but never to early to start talking some hoops. With cheatham's special team and dominance last year, is it their year again or are there going to be a couple surprise teams this year?? Who is returning the most players who had real minutes? Who is going to be the best players in the district this year? I personally feel there is going to be a lot of parody and the district title up for grabs this year. Would have to say after summer and performances at the end of the year last year my pick to win the district is Harpeth, I feel the rest is completely a toss up

However, Heritage will be strong.
Cleggy
I think that Heritage will win the District easily. Everybody lost key players, but Heritage seems to have the best reserves coming back to become today's stars.

Cleggy
What a homer. What's easily? Undefeated in district? I'd take some of that action. I didn't say undefeated. I just said they win the District easily. Probably will split with Harpeth and Westmoreland. Will beat Cheatham Co., Sycamore, and White House both times. Greenbrier has the big kid so they have a shot if anyone else steps up and produces for the Bobcats.
Vols615
I believe Harpeth is the team to beat this year. Granted they lost Anderton, Williams could very easily step into his shoes. Williams had several 15+ games last year and definitely will be the leader in scoring for the team this year. They lost their big man inside, Clayton, but they are bound to have a younger kid step up. I'm curious to see who will become the leaders on the floor this year for this Harpeth team. Anderton and Clayton We're the obvious leaders of the team last year. The younger Anderton has some handles and should become a good leader this year as well as Austin Williams. That being said, every team lost key players. I'm excited to see how this year pans out.
PizzaHut
Idk about that.. Harpeth and Heritage will both have a solid team. You have to think though, Westmoreland only lost 2 seniors last year i think. There other starters were all juniors. They are a team with 5 seniors coming for vengeance in my opinion. mumbletypeg
I would have to give Harpeth the nod as the favorite this year with some quality guys with game experience returning and 2nd year in system. Cheatham will be better than everybody thinks and will improve as the season progresses as they integrate a lot of guys with little game experience. They lost a ton but still have some good pieces to go along with Austin Douglas, who could easily be the 9aa mvp when all is said and done. Westmoreland overachieved last year but fizzled at the end of the season and I can't trust anything Cleggy says about Heritage as he is the ultimate subjective homer-will have to see them before I pass judgement. Sycamore will be younger but better this year and Greenbrier will be decent as well. Bottom line is there should be a lot of competitive games in 9aa this season and no dominant team like last year's Cubs. Good luck to all teams this year! GOOB1970
GB looked weak vs a soft Stratford last night. Bad passing, LOTS of turnovers. Felt like I was watching middle school ball at times. Over 45 fouls called in a non-aggressive game....hard for either team to get any kind of rhythm with interruptions like that. Anybody else experience similar officiating?

They return several starters. One is going to sit out and heel up for a few weeks then it should be game on. Go Eagles!!
mumbletypeg
Cheatham off to a nice 4-0 start after a big win on the road at Franklin last night. They are going to be much better than anticipated. Lots of young guys stepping up and playing well-should get tested again on the road against Kenwood this Friday. Go Cubs! captnoname
This league is Cheatham's to lose- Heritage aint got nothing for the Cubs and Harpeth will self-destruct. Barring any major injuries the Cubs will win this league. The Cubs are a very good team- well coached and return enough strong players that they should repeat as regular season champs.
