Baylorbigdog..Whitehaven does have the athletes we always had. we jus dont have a beast in the backfield like we had. . But we have good enough backs to get us there. .. true we have work to do. As I said teams are stronger this year in our area and we have to play like champs every nite but we can win. ..by the time the semis roll around we should be battle tested enough to get back to the big dance. ...

Whitehaven, Maryville, Oakland, Ensworth, MUS

Are you really gonna say that's the 5 best teams?  I think all non-Whitehaven fans would agree that you aren't in the top 5.  In no particular order, I'd say Maryville, Blackman, Knox Fulton, Brentwood Academy, and Ensworth. You're just lucky that you don't have to play the winner of the rematch between Blackman and Oakland, just to have a chance of going to the championship game.

What makes your opinion more realistic or relevant than mine??? Are you an expert? How can you be? Who have you seen play a real life game West of Nashville? What film have you seen? How many coaches do you know in Shelby Co.? Blackman isn't a better team than Oakland, they had a clearly superior player at QB that played a  great game at the right time. Plenty of people on here think Knox Fulton lost too much to be considered "GREAT" this season but its Laughable that I have Da Haven and MUS in MY top 5, ok then

Blackman is for real.  IF they beat Hoover AL, they will step into the top 25 in the nation.  Of course after that, they have to figure out a way to get past Maryville's extremely fast program.

Well, where do I start? BA beat MUS by 17 (not to mention their recent victory over an out-of-state, nationally ranked opponent), yet MUS makes your top 5 over them? Additionally, Blackman (and their QB that always plays great) beat Oakland, but again, Oakland makes your top 5 instead of Blackman?? Skewed logic if you ask me or any other non-Whitehaven fan. Next, Fulton is not down at all my friend. They are 4A and have beaten three 6A teams by an average of 73 points (83-3, 84-0, and 55-0)!! They beat a solid Farragut team 55-0. Dobyns-Bennett (one of the best 6A teams in East TN) beat Farragut by 4 points (31-27). I would actually put money that Fulton would beat Maryville if they played this year. Maryville has those same three 6A teams on their schedule, and they will not beat them as soundly as Fulton did.

Lastly, I'm sorry to report that I have not studied game films nor shook hands with any coaches from Memphis. However, I do follow high school football closely ;)

I say all 3 of the teams that Knox Fulton beat are likely Slaw and would be the Bottom of the barrel in 16AAA and/or 15AAA... So that don't move me.

I watched the Oakland vs. Blackman game and the Blackman QB was great. When the quarterfinals come around and Blackman beats Oakland again I'll eat the crow but from what I saw Oakland had a better overall team. BA beat MUS, ok and MUS has bounced back nicely.

That's about it. Thanks for your opinion but I HAVE seen Middle and East Tenn football and I am a Memphis guy, you can't say the same thus your opinion holds little weight in my world but I'm sure you're convincing some other folks  :geek:

TinPigskin:

The portion of your post that I put in bold letters draws me and other Whitehaven fans into a conversation that you are having with BlackhavenSenator. What on earth lead you to believe that every Whitehaven fan has the same opinion as he does? So ... you want to paint all Whitehaven fans with one broad brush?

And you try to make a case that BHS's logic is skewed?

Look in the mirror.

    • Agree. The man literally sacrificed time, moments, memories you can't get back with his own family for every single athlete at that school. (and many others) To those that continue to be negative about him and continue to bring him up; He's been loyal, hardworking and just his entire coaching career. Ask anyone that actually has a leg to stand on in regard to Coach.
    • Egotistical? That's a new one.  It's funny, I'm friends with two of the younger coaches that he "ran off" as you say. In fact, he helped them find jobs, encouraged them to do what was best for their growing families, provided advice, support and still does to this day.

    • Track has always been big at OR. Ran off about 7 straight titles in the 60s. Your hate for Gaddis runs deep, huh? What did he ever do to you, to make you disdain him that much? You can’t seem to stop talking about the guy. He’s living rent free in your head. Might wanna get that checked out, you don’t wanna go to the grave with that on your heart.
    • This late in the year, you’d have to think they’d go with an Asst. on staff, right? I’m pretty new to the area so still learning how folks do things around here…if Woods stays there to teach, it could be hard on a new guy/staff coming in…
