Things are only going to get tougher. It's the middle of the season and there are plenty of quality games to be played. The Commercial Appeal's Dandy Dozen has Whitehaven, Ridgeway, and East listed as the number 1, 2, and 3 teams respectively in the city. The wonderful thing about that is that all three are on each other's regular season schedules. That's right ... Whitehaven will play both Ridgeway and East. Ridgeway and East will play each other later on this season. Memphis will have an opportunity to see all three face off againstr each other. The first of those three match-ups will happen this Friday when Whitehaven will travel to Halle to play Ridgeway. Let's not forget that Ridgeway and Whitehaven got into a scuffle at this summer's 7 on 7 competition. There is no love lost between these two programs.

Guess what ya'll ... I've selected ... that's right ... twelve games! This weeks Big Games in Memphis will be dubbed the Terrific Twelve. Those will be as follows:

Dou-  I wish that I could go with  my heart like you and pick our Trojans this week. But, my head tells me that MBA could be touch much on the offensive and defensive fronts.  If Keno is healthy and can play, we have a fighting chance as he is the missing link that we did NOT have last year when we played them at their place. Since playing in the playoff game last year as a freshman, He has averaged nearly 150 yards per game and is rarely stopped for no gain. He is quick and does a great job of running behind his pads. Though he isn't a speed demon, he is a smart runner and a nice compliment to our QB Eldon Tyms. Having the threat of a running game makes Eldon and the passing game that much more lethal. He hasn't had the "breakout" passing game yet this year. This would be be a great game to do it in. MBA has a number of players both upper and underclassmen that are being recruited by SEC level schools. It's the ideal time for some of our Trojans to stand up and get noticed. It could put somebody on the map of college recruiters. With Patrick Macon's size and nose for the football, If he plays well on Friday he has a shot to really do well for himself. I am frankly shocked that he isn't already being recruited heavily at the d-1 level.Outside of Joshua McMillian, I am not sure there is a better LB in the Memphis area that Patrick Macon. He is averaging right at 10 tackles per game this year including a couple of sacks and interceptions.

Great rundown ,hopefully Keno is ok. I will always go with my heart on Millington though.

BigDave1967:

Did you intend to pick ALL of the games or were you just picking a select number of the games listed. I ask because you didn't select ALL TWELVE games. There are four games left off and I don't know if that is intentional or not. I hope you read this before the games are played on Friday.

Also, I just read your profile signature statement and I did as you requested. Let me add that it is my sincere desire for you and your entire family to have the peace that surpasses all understanding as you all deal with this adversity that is currently challenging all of you. THAT is something I requested on you and your family's behalf.

The Commercial Appeal has a story titled "Vanderbilt suspends former Memphis East star Brian Kimbrow indefinitely" The article doesn't give any details into why he is suspended because Vandy isn't giving out specifics to the press. They (Vandy) just say that it is "conduct detrimental to the team".

Being a UT fan things can't be bad enough for the Commodores. Hopefully they stay in last place in the SEC East for many seasons to come.

    • Yep..could possibly have 3 teams ranked in top ten in the same four team district.
    • He had an opportunity to be the OC at TC without final say in the offensive gameplan. How does that work? Smh. Head Coaches are public figures regardless of the community size, and yes there are some out there, it’s irrelevant and not fair to them to name them on here. Also why is said “head coach” the head coach of the MS baseball program to begin with? Oh because no one wants it. As for the Lebanon question, I know what I’ve been told so just going off here say, some of the boosters were not happy with his roster decisions and wanted him out. Although he lead them to 20+ wins in multiple seasons
    • A head coach in the school system? No I dont think so. Head coaches are public figures in small communities. Not trying to slander, but this is an actual question. Do you know why he was forced to resign at Lebanon? This was his second chance.  He already left trousdale once and had an opportunity to come back a couple of years ago but spoiled that.
    • Are you perfect? Nope no one is, at the end of the day there are several teachers/coaches and even some in the Trousdale County school system that have DUI’s on their record. You’re correct on it being a bad mistake and it unfortunately could have ended horribly. While you consider the consequences minimal, I can assure you they are not. Ultimately I hope and have faith that he will learn from it and use it to better himself.
