Despite all the controversy about prayer in school and before games GCHS allowed a FCA-based event tonight and approximately 45-50 teens and young adults committed to God. Kudos to bobcats coach for supporting one of there players who had rough time and spoke. They were there for him. That's what theses men are here for. Yes we wanna win ball games but ultimately they are here for the boys on and off the fields. They help our boys build character and class. GCHS were great role models tonight. More schools should take this action and support PRAYER and CHRISTIAN leadership because ultimately that's what life is about. Good job coaches. #ProCHRIST

I have a speech impediment and unlike many many people he and one of the other coach (all of them was great but head coach and the other coach) treated me like I was a regular human being and not like I am special. Idk who the other coach was but he seemed very interested when I talked about McConnell. He said they were good friends. They were great either way and the way that they stuck around after practice to support one of there players brought me to tears. Giles County has indeed a great classy coaching staff.

Now this is my challenge to everybody. We need to fight the people against prayers. We need to come together as Christians and push the others out. We need to make not only High School football but all High School sports back into a Christian based activity. We can not let "them" do this. Last night was a blessing to many people and I think we can do this State wide if we put our minds to it. #ProCHRIST!

    • He may have possibly said that to get the best out of him. Back when I was in school word got out I was going to transfer and Coach Story popped off and ask Coach Wilson in front of the team if Maryville was going to get a jock strap in return on this trade. That got back to me and I got fired up and stayed just to show them up. Now today Coach Story is one of my best friends.
    • Dylan's Dad, I'm glad you replied. I wanted to reply but wasnt willing to take the bait. There were 20 wrestlers on the team. I may be mistaken and correct me if I'm wrong but I believe 5 of the 20 attend McCallie right now and one will next year. At most, there are/were 6 kids on that team who attend McC. That leaves 14 other team members who have ZERO affiliation with McC (outside of maybe some friends) who represented our state to the best of their ability and wrestled their butts off that weekend. That weekend was a first for Tennessee and obviously a small step in the right direction for us as a state. Congratulations TEAM TN BLACK!
