From an Hville view:

We went in the season with 9 starters back on O and 3 on D. We thought we would pretty good on O and a work in progress on D. Starting or playing 8 soph on D so there have some growing pains. Kids are working and playing hard just need to make a few more plays. Kicking game has been pretty good so overall we are doing okay just need to keep working hard to improve and get our injured back soon.

As far as the district goes going into the season a lot of teams had question marks on the O and D lines and defense in general which have proven to be true. Lots of good skill players in the district but a shortage of defensive playmakers especially up front. Looking forward to the future don't see that changing much next year plus the top QB's are all seniors (Anderton, Chowbay, Elston, Meador, Ray). A lot of good RB's do return ( Banks, Mason, Carter, Towe, Van Zant, Napper,). Keep in mind that with realignment coming MJ, Portland and possibly WC will be gone replaced by the those wonderful metro teams and their 10 fans they bring with them.

I don't see any reason that Hville, Gallatin and Beech won't all be competing for the top spot next year. I hate to see the metros added to what I feel is a great district. However, we know Mt Juliet will be gone and the other 2 are close to the cutoff on both directions. I enjoy these rivalries that metro just can't match.

Mondo is right. Lots of offensive firepower with less than normal defenses. Gallatin has healed up and a few changes have really helped on the defensive side of the ball. Everybody was counting Gallatin out at 1-3 but 3 straight wins have really helped the confidence level of the team. Nobody saw Springfield coming out of the gate but everyone knew Hendersonville and Beech would be tough. Gallatin may not win another game but there would have to be major injuries or a catastrophic meltdown for them to not compete with these next 3 teams.

It's very disappointing that MJ will be moving on. The rivalries shared with Gallatin, Beech, WC, etc. were always so exciting to watch. Nonetheless it's going to happen. Mondo is correct I hope every veteran 9-AAA team is prepared for the dismal amount of fans the metro teams will bring. Think about it this way.... When was the last thread created for a metro team on here? Probably years.

Correct on those teams but Hillwood and Hunters Lane are the teams being mentioned mostly for being in our district.  Will probably be easier to make the playoffs but the gates for those would be around $150.  Even with the bad weather Friday night Mt Juliet brought a nice crowd.  I will miss the really nice campus at MJ if we don't play them and the food at the concession stand.  Last time at Hunters Lane your drink choices were Sprite and Diet Sprite and the food was a snickers bar.

Hillwood and Hunters Lane are consistently bad year in year out..

They still have a way to go, but it appears Hunters Lane has improved significantly. They're sitting at 3-5 right now, but could easily be 5-3. They should finish 4-6 this year and continue to improve moving forward. I wouldn't put them on the schedule thinking it's an easy eun down the road. They have a lot of athletes and the second year coach seems to have them moving in the right direction.

This is true, but I am not convinced yet their strength of schedule is weak. Anywho, looks like we have a few good games in 9-AAA this week.

    • Yea I agree I will say tho I was a big “ v “ fan if an  opening ever did happen I think it would’ve been good to see him have a shot coming from a power house like Oakland. I’m sure he’s learned a lot from Kevin.  I bet he would bring a really good offense scheme IMO But after all this I just dunno anymore.  Whatever happens with the rumors an such if it did come to and opening I think this messes it all up.  The board members dreams are slowly slipping away now. I haven’t lived there for awhile I just hear what I hear, but my question is would there be any good potential candidates?? That’s why I don’t understand why people want b s out so bad who else could do any better ?? IMO there’s nothing attractive about it? As I stated earlier I went to the last game last year and taking a leak in a porta Potty is pretty sad and still nothing being done they say ..
    • I have a sophomore that can do 177 (preferred) or 192. Sent you an email.
    • speaking of board members how can a man get arrested 12 days ago and still be head coaching a team in TC school system? looks like your right about the tc board members. I bet it would be different if they had a kid on the team
