Does Milan have a lot of speed this year? The Mustangs don't have a lot of speed this year. They don't have that one back that can carry the load of years passed.

Not compared to years past. But decent. I mean most people say Peabody has a lot of speed but watching Milan play them I would say we had more especially on defense. Offensive is very average. However d line is killing it and the backers and secondary have plenty of speed to go sideline to sideline. If you guys stay in that single wing I don't think you will get more than 14pts but we may not be able to score more than that.

With Huntingdon offense you don't have to go sideline to sideline

Yeah I know. But against Dyersburg that impressed me. D line for Milan was stout enough that they didn't get a push up front and the rest of the d kept them from getting to the outside.

If the Stangs don't get much of a push up front it will be a very long night for them. But I think this will be a low scoring game with y'all's running game keeping the clock moving and our offensive inability. Our game with S Gibson was 19-14. I think this will be much the same and could go either way.

Have been tired up with work lately, and have not had much time to get on here. I have to say that game last week was probably the most embarrassing game I have seen the Mustangs play in 10 plus years. I think we all learned that we are not as good as some think. We have a lot of young talent, but I think we all saw first hand that they are not ready for the spotlight that some may think. I hope that the team actually shows up this week because it seemed like the entire team missed the bus last week.

We better keep Milan and Camden we have played both programs forever and even though we rag each other we got lots of respect for each other fans and players alike.

Besides it the T$$AA loves their gate money.  The Milan Huntingdon game always has a crazy crowd.  I want to play in 2a since Milan went down so we would have chance to play them twice, however its prob a blessing in disguise we will probably be in 1A since Alcoa went back to 2A.

technical correction Kerm....T$$AA doesn't get their money grubbing hands on a gate during the regular season...home team keeps all of it....but they do get 1/3 of the playoff gate...

    • Lee would have been a good choice, also.  I'm sure Benny was involved with the decision.
    • Personally I was pulling for Lee Hammonds to get another shot. He’s earned it!
    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
