District 4-A Tournament moved to Neutral Site

Word is out that the District 4-A Basketball Tournament this year has been moved to Anderson County High School. The District Athletic Directors met at Oliver Springs High School this week and voted to move the tournament to a neutral site for the 2014-2015 season. The tournament will move back to Wartburg High School the years that District 4 holds the region. Seems like a fair assessment since Wartburg has held the tournament for the past number of years. Anderson County is probably about an hour drive or less for schools involved. Really don't think the crowds will diminish playing at ACHS instead of Wartburg. Vote went as follows: Move to Neutral Site- Oneida-OZ-Jellico- Wartburg (I guess that got tired of hosting each year; much work involved)  Keep at Wartburg- Oakdale, Sunbright, Coalfield.  Should make for an interesting tournament atmosphere.

I guess I will jump first......OSch44, I'm uncertain why you think there shouldn't be a neutral site?  Or at least a rotating site to host the district tourney?  If it is someones year to host, why shouldn't that school determine the location of where the tournament will be?  Instead of considering this to be whining, I look at it as wanting an equal seat at the table.  How would you like to go to a board meeting where the members essentially disregarded everything you said?  You don't have to answer that because you know the "emotions" it would stir up.  You'd be angry for not having any input and argumentive to get your point across.....what is different here.  Wartburg is a great site, in a central location....but it best serves the teams that play there. (ever hear of home cooking?)  In their year, by all means have it there, but others should have that option too.  Last time a district and region was hosted up here, guess who won it?  I'll move on.....

  Took first jump and obviously BF enjoys holding the board meetings!  Instead of being a Toad (pun intended), and classless I might add, answer some of those questions in my post.....instead of proving your point, your ending up making mine look way more rational.  Seriously, I'm not going to entertain the stupidity any more.  Enjoyed seeing your veiw.....BullFrog.

I would love to have this topic arbitrated....I would really just like to have a neutral person listen to this stuff.

Is it just too logical for it to rotate through all schools? What am I missing here? That seems like it's too easy. Why send $$$ to a separate county when people stop to get gas, eat, etc? Why not keep it in the district so to speak. If it's in Jellico or Oneida or whereever, then some folks will get gas and eat in that area....why send $$$ to Anderson when none of the schools are there?

The last time a district and region was hosted at Wartburg was last year, and Meigs County won.  I'll move on....

I think you missed the point... All schools should host or at least have a choice to host if they want it. This is too simple. How can some schools just be excluded?

4 of 7 schools in Morgan Co. which constitutes a majority when any voting takes place.  That is it in a nutshell.  I agree, everyone should have the option to host on their given year.  I guess AC at least makes the Tournament a true neutral site which, at the very least, is equal to the teams competing.

There are no questions to answer.  Wartburg, Oneida, Oliver Springs and Jellico voted to move to neutral site.  Majority rules.  So whats the problem?  The decision has been made. Why do you want to have the topic arbitrated?  You wanted to throw in "home cooking" so I just merely pointed out the fact that District and Region was held at Wartburg last year.  Coalfield won the District and Meigs County won Region, not Wartburg.  You like dishing it out but your just not quite big enough yet to take it.  That's ok...you'll get there  But I will end the stupidity for you I will...move on.

No I didn't miss the point at all. and your right it is simple.  The simple answer is not all the schools are big enough to host.  TSSAA rules...like it or not.  Thankfully District will be held at Anderson County and everyone can be happy.
