Silverpie, you are a little late. Scratch Hillcrest and Mitchell. They have been suspended from playoffs for 3 years.

Whoa! No idea that was going to happen! Obviously will not affect 1A, will need to re-run the 2A numbers.

Edit to add: In my defense, I think the news broke on the forum after I posted and still isn't on tssaa.org or the front page here.

Anywhatever, this can get into some horrifically ugly tiebreaks.

First place is straightforward. Booker T needs a win and a Hillcrest win. Carver needs a win and a Health Sciences (MAHS) win. Anything else and KIPP wins the district.

As for top two, there is one particularly bizarre case in play: if Health Sciences and Oakhaven win, it's a five-way tie for first at 3-4, or if KIPP wins, a four-way tie for second. Even with a loss, KIPP would take first anyway because they have the only outside win; the other four remain tied for second.

Assuming that does not happen, Booker T simply needs a win to qualify. Carver needs a win plus wins by Hillcrest and Health Sciences. KIPP needs either a win or a Health Sciences win. Health Sciences has to take it to the deep tiebreaks (they may actually be eliminated, the combinations literally blow my computer's mind). Oakhaven needs a win plus either a Health Sciences win and favorable deep tiebreaks, or Booker T and Hillcrest wins.

    • I used to think like that many many moons ago.  I wondered the same questions but learned that it is just not that easy.  Hiring assistant coaches can be complicated at times.  It takes a few years for HC’s to get who they feel is right for their system.  Couple that with good assistant coaches getting better jobs at times and leaving your program. More to it than some think.  I think you have a good coach up there and time will tell that story.
    • okay.  Like i said initially, it's question we have to ask, but we sure don't know the answer yet.
    • You’re right, I shouldn’t jump the gun on it. Hopefully it isn’t related to the sports programs, because it’ll end up affecting a lot of innocent kids who just enjoy playing sports.
    • I totally agree but just don’t want to see people jumping the gun by insinuating it was for athletic reasons. Nobody knows at the moment except for those involved in the incident itself and those investigating.
    • Bruh, That portion of the post was simply a product of my imagination. Try to keep up.  The real purpose of the post was to rub salt in this fresh wound following FF’s departure to BGA.
