Viking Takedown Jam tournament November 8th

The Viking Takedown Jam preseason wrestling tournament will take place at Northwest High School on November 8, 2014.  This will also serve as a mass hydration testing site, with testing beginning at 6:30 a.m.  Wrestling will follow at 9:00 a.m.  Matches will consist of a single 3-minute running clock (clock will only stop for blood or injuries).  Tech fall rules will be enforced. 

 

Cost is $5 per competitor.  Checks may be made payable to Northwest High School, or cash can be delivered to the Northwest High wrestling coaching staff.  Gate for spectators will be $5 (children 7 & under free).  Concessions will be available, and there will be a hospitality room available for coaches (please limit three to a team). 

 

Rosters should be emailed to the Northwest coaching staff by Thursday, November 6, 2014.  Include athlete names, weights, and experience level (beginner or experienced).  The tournament will be organized into pools in ten-pound increments to maximize each wrestler’s number of matches.  Please be honest when reporting your athletes’ actual weights. Since there is hydration testing, we will NOT have a separate tournament weigh-in.
