Clay co vs RBS

Traveled to RBS last night to scout out CC and hopefully watch a few dunks. I had heard lots of hype on their new 6'7 kid that was added to their already stellar lineup. Much to my surprise it was a great game. Kudos to RBS! Their kids gave it all they had. Confused on how CC can have that much talent and not dominate. Maybe to many chiefs and not enough Indians??? No doubt the most talented kid is Key, but it seemed the bigger guys wouldn't share the ball. Edwards enjoys the rotation of two teams, well his second team off the bench definately outshined his first lastnight. There is a lot to be said for kids that play as a team. They proved size isn't everything. To bad he didn't play Key with them. Don't get me wrong, I've always been a CC fan but lastnight they didn't live up to all the hype. Hopefully last night was a wake up call for them.

Clay County is the favorite to win Region 4A, they are talented and well coached.  The Key kid is a stud and even without the transfer they were going to be good so i can't imagine them not being a favorite to go to the state.

Wow I guess we watched two separate games last night, I was there as well. My take away was that Coach Edwards knew a few coaches were there to scout them. All three big boys were never on the floor together, several mixtures of players were on the floor together. You made a comment that the two big boy wouldn’t share the ball. Were you really at RBS last night. I never saw either of the big boys bring the ball down the floor and play a two man game among themselves. The two top scorers were guards 5 and 24 were the leading scorers.

Both 55 and 21 had slight foul trouble and Key had his worst game of the young season and was in foul trouble as well. I think 21 the big boy took 5 or 6 shots scored 6 points had dozen rebounds, 3 or 4 blocks and altered several shots. 55 maybe shot 6 or 8 times and a hand full of rebounds with foul trouble. I do agree that the 2^nd team came in a settled everything down and then 3 of the first 5 five came back and they went on from there. Any chance the coach didn’t want to show much this early against a team that is not even a district game. Beating RBS by 30 accomplishes nothing let’s wait and see how that game goes the second time around when everyone has seen everything. I will say RBS played very well.

Hey I could be wrong they may suck and just hide it well.

How was this a 47-55 game? I missed this game and didn't get to make it out, but I expected it to be a blow out.

Hard for me to believe Edwards was holding back, especially against Owens. Everyone knows there is no love lost between the two. (EDD) Ha ha!!! Hey I hope the problem is just the fact they aren't use to playing together. I just thought the big guys would dominate. The officials were really letting the kids play lastnight, otherwise the big boys would have been out at the half. Key has been averaging about 20+ points a game and he had what around 5 pts. Even in foul trouble I thought he would have more. Boles and Dodson lit it up lastnight. No one can make me believe Edwards would try to just "slide by" RBS. There is way to much history there.

If you're wanting to see a blow out between these two teams you should probably attend the next game in Celina.  I predict a 32 point margin of victory for the Bulldogs...

That's exactly right. RBS can only win in their gym. Funny thing, huh. A 32 point margin was exactly what I was hoping for. Wanted to see Key light it up!

Clay's big boys did not play well at all. If RBS hadn't had such a bad 3rd quarter, they would have won.

RBS has one of the toughest gyms on the area to play in and on the right night can make it tough for any team. I expect it to be a blow out next time as well, but with as easy as our schedule is RBS should still win quite a few games.

Yes small hot gym and RBS played very well that night. Believe it or not Clay is still experimenting with line ups. I think after the first of the year we will be more of a complete team or at least I hope we are. Way to much talent not to be a very good team. Up to this point they have played just well enough to win.
