As part of today's jamboree, the Patriot  freshmen will scrimmage the Tilghmen frosh on the practice field at about 4:30 prior to the start of the Stewart Co.- West Carrol pairing. Should be a really fun night for football fans.On another note, Inman and HC Middle both won handily last night over Waverly and Stewart Middle respectively.

Does anyone know anything about Paducah-Tilghman?

I am a Mayfield guy but am somewhat familiar with the Blue Tornado.  They went 7-6 last season and finished as regional runner up but got blown out in the regional final.  Traditionally PT has been a Kentucky powerhouse but not as of late.  They have a highly regarded second year coach from Warren Central in Mile Rogers who runs the Wing T.  They return a QB who is pretty good and may be the best player in their district this year as well as their top receiver from a year ago.  They have suffered of late from a major lack of discipline and smallish lines but this year is expected to see some improvement.  They are ranked #5 preseason in their 3A class.  I spoke with one of their coaches this morning at breakfast and he told me they were scrimmaging Westview first and only planned to use their starters for 1 or 2 series with Henry Co.  That said I doubt Henry will get much out of this given their plans to not play their starters.  In my opinion, starters or not, I don't see them having the horses to play with a Henry County.  Typically they have freakishly good skill players but lack good line play and discipline.

Great night of action. I missed game 1 and most of game 2, but games 3 and 4 alone were fun to watch.

Henry County gets the 23-7 victory over Paducah Tilghman. Over all I thought we looked pretty good tonight. Running game looks solid. McCord, Thompson, Reynolds, and Odom all bring something different to the table and should make for a pretty reliable stable of backs. and I thought the QB's played well aside from a couple of mistakes here and there. McCutcheon played great and showed he has a nice handle on the offense, and the TD strike from Stewart to Stewart was awesome. If Savon Stewart can simply smooth out his game a little bit, which should come with more experience, we could have a 2-headed monster at QB this year. And the kicker who hit the FG at the end (Zadan sp?) appears to have a really nice leg and could definitely be a weapon this year. Defense held Tilghman scoreless until late in the scrimmage. I feel pretty good about this team heading into game week.

As for game 4, I came away impressed with Dresden as they beat Milan 21-10 (I think). Their QB is a special player and was very fun to watch. They also play with some real attitude on defense. My hunch is they will do very well in their classification this year.

    • He may have possibly said that to get the best out of him. Back when I was in school word got out I was going to transfer and Coach Story popped off and ask Coach Wilson in front of the team if Maryville was going to get a jock strap in return on this trade. That got back to me and I got fired up and stayed just to show them up. Now today Coach Story is one of my best friends.
    • Dylan's Dad, I'm glad you replied. I wanted to reply but wasnt willing to take the bait. There were 20 wrestlers on the team. I may be mistaken and correct me if I'm wrong but I believe 5 of the 20 attend McCallie right now and one will next year. At most, there are/were 6 kids on that team who attend McC. That leaves 14 other team members who have ZERO affiliation with McC (outside of maybe some friends) who represented our state to the best of their ability and wrestled their butts off that weekend. That weekend was a first for Tennessee and obviously a small step in the right direction for us as a state. Congratulations TEAM TN BLACK!
