Westmoreland just scheduled it's first game of the season and it's a doozy. WHOA Nellie, we have the mighty sweat bees of Trousdale county game 1. What a way to kick off the season. Can Dillon Todd and Bailey Kirk along with Brandon Green and Hunter Crowson dominate the sweat bees behind the big line with the Harper twins, Israel Ward, and Belcher coming back to steamroll dlines again?

Even thought there were several seniors, many juniors (and few soph) got some quality play this year.  I hope they get that playoff taste in there mouth and go to work!  Every year provides a new type team, and this year is def going to be that.

Postman, do you know who spring scrimmage, fall scrimmage is?

Motown has several key players back but, they will have to play iron man football. Last season they only had about 4 players that played both sides of the ball. I think next season that number could double. Those young men better be in good playing shape if that happens

Me and 64NB were saying the same thing this mourning. We also came to the conclusion that lots of the teams we will play probably play iron man football as well in 2a. You do make a good point. Last years team was very deep. It was pretty amazing depth for Westmoreland standards.

Hey Postman (or anyone that knows):

I noticed on the TSSAA Job board that the middle school needed an assistant, but no teaching slot available.  The thing that caught me off guard was that the post was by Jamie Akins????

I thought he was coaching at the varsity level?  I mean, I know his son is graduating, so are there changes going on with the staff?  What about Coach White?  He was the middle school coach, right?  But I always saw him on Fridays with the varsity as well.  Any other changes going on?

Westie could make some noise in their new classifican move. Not sure about their good running back, whether he returns next year or not. They peaked at the right time and if that carries over thru next year, they could be hard to handle.

I believe that Westmoreland will be in an interesting position for the next few years. You have to admit that for the last three years Westy has been very competitive in 3a with the likes of having to play teams like Whitehouse, CPA not to mention the other district teams which all were usually larger. Now comes the time to see if Westy can parlay this into serious contention for state titles in football. Dropping down does not automatically mean success. Look no further than Goodpasture to see how bad they screwed having almost guaranteed success in 2a into a complete Chinese fire drill of a program. Good luck, hope the fans in Westmoreland have well deserved success in the next few years.

I agree with this post. Even though my son graduated last season, these boys mean a lot to me and my wife. I'd love to see this bunch take the state. it would have been nice last season with Mason being a senior but It would be equally nice to see my hometown boys to do something no other Westmoreland team has ever done in football. That being said it won't be a cake walk freeby todo this. I just hope this bunch can keep it all together and stay on the same page. If they do that great things will happen this season. Lots of good kids on this team attitude wise. Dillon Todd is a humble hero. Bailey Kirk is also a good kid. I was thankful to get to be around these kids on Thursday nights the past couple of years and I'm planning on doing the same this season if possible. Edited by Mr. Postman1
