No not knocking Cleveland. Just wondering about Knox county. Some on here talking about how bad it is. Just simply looking for opinion on why Knox is not a good place to work.

Well I say funding may be a problem. Having so many schools and only so much money. Plus as he said with the private schools getting kids. In Cleveland u have 3 large high schools with Cleveland being the only high school in the city school system in which every thing pretty much revolves around the high school.

I was shocked to see this in the paper a couple days ago. Cleveland must be dumping money in his lap. It will be interesting to see what comes of this job and who Knox West decides to hire.

HTV, you seem to have an inside track, do you think it is possible that Partin, OC from Farragut, applies for this job? He was a finalist for the Powell job, but  Rodney Ellison from Clinton was who ended up getting the Powell job. I know Partin is a Powell alumni and coached there for several years, but West certainly seems like a much better job than Powell right now, so one would think that he would apply for this job.

Never say never, but I don't believe Coach Partin will apply for the West job, or any others that might come open.  As you say, Powell is his alma mater and he was an assistant there for a good while.  I think those ties were the primary reasons he was interested in that position.

Be surprised if he's not Farragut's OC when Farragut goes to Powell (ironic, isn't it?) in Week 1 of the 2015 season.

HTV, Don't you think that coming off a State Championship that there will be a flood of applicants from outside the system?

Also,

I have had a couple people tell me that there may be a set of brothers outside the county that would be very interested in the position….

Because of the success the Price Brothers have had turning what was once a perennial  doormat in to a very solid football program their names are going to come up every time a traditionally good program is looking for a new coach. It would take a really good opportunity for them to leave Campbell County, from what I have been led to believe.  Obviously I can't speak for them and say one way or the other if this is that opportunity or not.  I really like Justin and Matt both personally and as coaches.  They both have really bright futures in the coaching profession.

And, yes, I feel like the West job will draw a good pool of applicants, but I just don't see a big name coach wanting to come from out of Knox County to any Knox County school right now.  As has been talked about time and time again, the pay a head football coach gets in Knox County, the load of extra work a coach in Knox County has to deal with compared to many other "plum" jobs in and out of state, and the lack of true middle school football in Knox County will keep a lot of potentially good applicants away.

    • hey goat! how’s monterey looking this year?!
    • several people actually. they said “snoball, do you know who railbird81 is on coacht?” I said, “never heard of her.” they said, “you ought to check it out they’re getting fired up on there like the old days.” well, you can imagine my disappointment when I came here expecting sharp, witty banter and all i found was more akin to toddlers slap fighting. and what looks like 1 guy/gal talking to themselves with multiple accounts.
    • Shopping? His family is loaded and he's 6'6 I'm pretty sure he could start anywhere in upper East TN,So no need to shop. Word is Witten got caught trying to work him out on campus and some 7 on 7 while playing athletics for Sullivan East. Word got around pretty quick and Someone turned them into TSSAA.
    • Quick update on Jacob -  Jacob celebrated his 16th birthday at Vanderbilt on Tuesday and has been in decent spirits.  His sense of humor has begun to show as he was visited by many friends.  He is swallowing a lot better now and has eaten some of his favorites (Chik-Fil-A and Five Guys).   He is getting prepared to head to Atlanta to the Shepherd Center first thing tomorrow morning.  His family has been waiting on insurance approval. In case you dont know the Shepherd Center it a world class facility and supposedly one of the best in the country for spinal injury rehab.  Praying for perfect results there. Considering the circumstances, Jacob is in decent spirits.  He has some reflexive movement in his legs which I think is probably a very positive sign.  Don't read too much into that just yet as there is no telling what the real prognosis is... just hopeful that is good thing.  I am really just happy that it seems like he has a punchers chance of getting something back.  He is a strong young man and very determined so I think he will fight as hard as he can in physical therapy while down in Atlanta. More than one of you has asked me about an address to send donations.  I know GoFundMe isn't for everyone.  If you want to go that route, you can make a check to "Blackman Wrestling Club" and we will pass anything received directly to the Kinderdines.   Jacob Kinderdine c/o Blackman Wrestling 4836 Trevino Court Murfreesboro, TN  37128 Also, want to thank everyone who has donated so far.  Jacobs dad will take a month off work and stay in Atlanta with him.  They need to learn how to take care of him and do home therapy work..... and surely Jacob will be glad his dad can be there.  All that could not happen without you all.  Depending on what happens, they will probably end up doing some home remodeling in order to accommodate Jacob at their home.  Thanks again. Here's a pic I lifted from Facebook of Jacob on Oxy talking to his Uncle.  LOL
