Cat and mouse game. One of the intriguing aspects of wrestling.

Will there be some surprises Friday?

Will showers magically appear at the Palace?

Can anyone beat Cleveland or Baylor?

Will there ever be a serious discussion about a venue change?

Will officials blend in to the matches or determine them?

Come on down and check it out!!

Well here are my picks:

AAA-

Cleveland over Summit

Tullahoma over Arlington

Beech over Dobyns-Bennett

Heritage over Gibbs

Bradley over McGavock

Tennessee over Siegel

Halls over William Blount

Wilson Central over Houston

A/AA-

Pigeon Forge over MLK

Alcoa over Notre Dame

Hixon over Forrest

Greenville over Greenbriar

D2-

Baylor over BA

MBA over SBA

McCallie over Christian Brothers

Father Ryan over Briarcrest

On a side note, though I think Cleveland doesn't break a sweat til the finals, there are quite a few interesting individual match ups with Summit and potentially with Tullahoma, Arlington, and Beech. I can't wait til tomorrow. It's gonna be fun to watch for sure

    • Yea, they have Davey quaking in his boots. Someday they'll even have a winning season.
    • Guessing this may have been the closest I can think of...... Bill Harlow: (from wiki) After leaving OSU, Harlow went on to win three national titles in freestyle wrestling.  He won a silver medal at the 1970 World Wrestling Championships, falling to Soviet Gennady Strakhov in the finals at 90 kg.
    • The Simpson brothers had good freestyle careers.

    • Maybe some of the historians can get on here and help me out, but has anybody from Tennessee ever had as much success in an international style as Boykin? The only other Tennessee native I can remember competing for world team spots is the older Boykin in freestyle and he wasn't nearly as close as Nick has been to making world teams.
