Oneida is the clear cut favorite here and to be honest just don't see much of a challenge to them in district, of course the test comes when it gets to region where Knox Grace awaits who will be a top 5 team in the state for 2015! But with that said, they have a shot at getting to the Boro if things go right.

Who all does Oneida return? I know they lost at least a couple of good players.

Have a lot of respect for Oneida athletics. If their baseball program is anything like the football program, they should be able to compete with anyone. Class act. Don't give the State Championship to Knox Grace just yet. I believe Rockwood will challenge them for the 3-A crown. We are a young team but we bring some experienced players back. 15 juniors and 1 senior on a team that dresses 22. Rebuilding year for us but we are basically fielding the same team for the next 2 seasons.

Oneida lost 4 players to graduation.  The top pitcher in the District from last year returns.  A pitcher that was awesome his Sophomore year is health.  The middle infielders are back for their 4th year together.  I'd say that it will be a productive year for them, just was not sure how much Oakdale returned, I think 5 of 9 starters, but only one pitcher? is that true?

Jellico and SB usually struggle a good bit.... Will they be any better?

Wartburg has a good chance of placing 2nd. I hope Coalfield will be improve and get a few wins.

I figure that Coalfield will be stronger, but did they not make themselves unable to play in the post season this year as well?  OS is usually pretty stable and Wartburg may have improved.  It would just be nice to see someone from 4-A playing at State.  Been a long time since Coalfiled was there for the District.

Overall talent-wise, Coalfield is #2, even now....just very young, according to an ump that's seen everyone. Think they start eight, 8th -10 graders. They need a 2nd pitcher, just like the others (besides Oneida).... the second district day looks shaky on the mound this year for most. With a year's growth....look out. The Morgan kid is probably the 3rd best pitcher in the district right now... and I think he's just a sophmore. Edited April 1, 2015 by CAH09
