Back on the District 12A thread,  coachcarterfan asked when was the last time Wayne County and Collinwood failed to make the 6A Regionals?  Don't know the answer, but I asked Coach Byrd if he knew the answer.  He said Wayne County made the Region every year he was a coach (don't remember if he said 22 or 27 years) and he said they were at Regions at least the 5 years before he started coaching them.  He said if you also include Collingwood, he thought it may have never happened since they started this tournament format.  I think I have the best source possible on this question but if someone else has a better way to verify, please feel free to pursue it.  It is always possible a coach has a season he would like to forget and proceeds to do so!!

1984 - Neither Wayne County nor Collinwood girls advanced to regional action. Collinwood boys were eliminated first round as well.

Summertown defeated Santa Fe 40-37.

Once again District 12A dominates District 11A in Girls Region 6 Action.  12A 4-0 tonight.  Year in and year out.

 

Funny thing Santa Fe fans posting on Facebook moral victory for keeping the game close with Summertown.  Ridiculous.  Maybe one day these same fans will come to realize that the Middle School County Championships don't matter once it comes to high school and that Santa Fe can not compete outside the county or the Region.
