Who will be 5A championship contenders?

I don't know much outside of the east tn area. West lost 5 all state guys, south Doyle lost best 3 players qb and tb. Sevier County has to replace running game tb,fb, and oline all gone. Oak ridge may be the pre season favorite out of east tn.

Henry County should be good again. We lost a few to graduation but should just reload again. One of those replacements is at QB. That is also interesting.

I hope you're right about us (OR). We lost our entire offensive line and our entire secondary. Losing our whole secondary won't be good when we play Sevier.

My surprise prediction in 5A next year will be LaVergne. They have a ton of talent are don't play in the same region as the other Rutherford County Schools. That will pay huge dividends in 2015.

I'll be honest, seeing you guys earlier in the year this past one... I really thought you guys along with OR would have been the difference makers in 5A from the East. However, the coaching that went on defensively against Rhea County was atrocious. You talk about how the offense couldn't do anything in the cold but defensively it may have been one of the worst game plans ever!!!!! I like your passion for the OWLS but last year they underachieved and were not coached very well defensively! OR had absolutely zero offense last year and Rhea County abused them as well from an offensive stand point. I think both of you guys could be pretty good again this coming season but time will tell!

When Rhea County beat OR in the playoffs they had a big guy that had 2 TD catches in that game. The guy bobbled both catches 3 or 4 times and almost dropped both of them but because he had all the time in the world and was wide open he was able to hold on and score. If he had any guys on him there was no way he would have made either of those catches and it would have been a different game.
