Looking forward to Bryson Rosser's second season at Central. His first brought us a playoff berth and even though we lost bad to West in the first round, we Bobcats took many positives from it. Central returns almost every starter on Offense, minus 2 OL and last yr's QB Austin Kirby who transferred to Grace Christian. On Defense, Central returns 7 starters and we are anticipating the arrival of a new DC. Former Tennessee secondary coach Larry Slade joins the staff bring MUCH needed teaching and experience to our team. Although we have a VERY tough schedule, we Central fans are very excited for the possibility of another playoff appearance and hopefully a deep run. GO BOBCATS!

Sorry for the late reply folks. Yes, he is Aaron Kirby's son. I'm not sure how he got eligible to play after starting every game the last 2 seasons for Central, but he is. Also, not sure if Aaron is coaching at GCA or not. Last I checked he wasn't listed as a coach on their team website, but it might not have been updated yet. And by the way endofbcs, This was my first time actually creating a post, so please give me a break.

From what I hear Grace didn't hire the dad to coach. The Kirby kid may have either moved or got a hardship.Sounds at though you guys lost a goodun.

Update. Last night, the Bobcats traveled  to Tennessee Tech and scrimmaged Columbia Central. Final Varsity score was Knox Central-35  Columbia Cent-14. Offense was firing on all cylinders and the defense forced Col Cent to 4 straight 3 and out's to start game. This upcoming week, Central plays Gibbs in the KOC jamboree at Central on thursday. Go Bobcats!

public to private quires you to move at least 30 miles without sitting out a year, kirby left central in the winter when daddy got let go, he "moved" to claiborne county & went to claiborne county high during the spring. Therefore "moving" back to knoxville was 30 miles from his last high school. That's how he is eligable to play now at Grace.......

    • Well, your Big Western Hunt better turn up some Zebras to come graze on the Stones to make the jungle gametime ready again and make sure the plumber bros. still will come service the facilities at the Mecca. I hope your weekend is Fowl. Tell Rip hello from the Five Oh. Maybe the Gravedigger will catch a ride with Alphaniner on a flyover soon to BNA.
    • It’s not hearsay, just patently false. As one of those young coaches he apparently “ran off”, coach never once ridiculed or degraded anyone. Sure he challenged kids and coached them very hard,  but we have different definitions of you call that degrading. Coach Hammontree changed my life when he gave me the chance to work for him. I learned more about being a man and caring for the people around me in 4 years working for him than I did in 20 years of my life. No one sacrificed more than he did. I left Heritage because I felt there would never be the support necessary to help the program succeed. I’m tired of hearing people drag others down especially those they truly don’t know. Coach has moved on and a new coach is there. Just let the man live and root for the team.
    • Waiting on the Great One.   White Horse and Rip have a big weekend in the woods, and the Sheriff is working the overtime here.      Turkey season awaits…..Big Gobblers everywhere.
