UC by 3....they have an excellent kicker.

That kid that you saw kick last night was our number 3 kicker. Numbers 1 and 2 are injured. So we really have 3 excellent kickers. We get em from the soccer team. Our number 1 kicker is also our starting QB who didn't play last night because like I mentioned above, he is injured. Thanks for your pick though.

Is UC in that mode SP was from 2006-2013 where they just reload every year? Sounds like they are going to be a tough team again this year. Man, the west will be tough in the playoffs!

Powerp man I don't want to jinx anything but right now it seems that way. After 09 we thought we might get back to Cookeville in 2012. It just made sense because we would have been a strong senior loaded team that had been under the current system for 4 years. Well 2012 was a bust. When the 2013 season started the way that it did with us losing to McKenzie in the season opener and the fumble fest that was, I don't think anybody in the state expected that season to end with UC being crowned the Champions. Well then there's last year and the only thing that is different than what I expected is just how dominant that team was. Normally after a team like the team of the last 2 years leaves due to graduation you have a down year or years. I don't think that is happening. These guys are coming together and will only improve as the season progresses. I'm one of those guys who really wants to come out and be confident about how the season will go but experience has taught me to be a little more cautious. So I think Coach Bowling has put together the right staff and the right program in the right town that makes it possible for something like what you described to happen. At least I hope so.

There's night and days difference between the entire program in this one and that one. In 2007 Coach Bowling brought his smash mouth style of play into Union City. He quickly thinned out the ranks and found out who wanted to play old school football. Bowling truly believes that you play the way you practice. So if you drop by a UC practice you will see full contact, holding nothing back practice. They will practice one play for an entire practice and tell the scout team defense where the ball is going. They will keep this up until they get it right over and over again. So on Friday night you see a lot of the same things they do in practice. Not many coaches are willing to do that.
