Two days of nonstop basketball featuring teems such as East, Hamilton, Ridgeway, Craigmont, Bartlett, and 30 more Memphis teams concluded last night. The final game was the much awaited showdown between Mitchell and East. Both teams went at for 3 qtrs but Mitchell defense and pressure took over in the last half in the Tigers 12 point win. East is very, very, very big. 6-8 6-7 6-5 6-4 and many more coming off the bench. Moss and Lawson both are long and athletic. Mitchell Tevin Ollison was on fire and our guards are relentless on defense. New coach Andre Turner has the Tigers now applying full court pressure along with their usual man to man pressure.

Have you already made your hotel reservations GCA? No chance of anyone in your district or region affecting those plans surely!

Well, Meigs for sure has the talent to say so....but, I like our chances. We just finished up in the challenging Charlotte Hoops Challenge. We went 1-1. We are now 1-3 but that was vs two 6-A schools in Knoxville without our football guys; Oak Ridge and Farragut and then the two tough Charlotte teams this past weekend. We have most our players back with district play starting this week. We still have two players out with injury, one is a starter from last year.

We have a few guys really playing strong right now but still have room to go. We have not won a first quarter this season. Need to get bounce early not in the 2nd quarter!

    • QUICK UPDATE -  First, I see a lot of wrestling names that I recognize on that GoFundMe.  THANK YOU so much for helping this family.   After the long surgery on Sunday morning to repair his neck, Jacob suffered a collapsed lung.  Sometimes this happens after long surgeries.  They had to put him on a ventilator to get his breathing back on track.  He came off the vent on Monday morning and they put a BIPAP on him to help control his breathing.  As of today, Thursday, the BIPAP came off and he is breathing well on his own.  He is working towards drinking a glass of water and hopefully eating some solid food at some point in the near future. Jacob can "feel" when someone touches his legs, but there is still no movement.  His parents are beginning to prepare for him to be moved to the Shepherd Center in the next few days.  He will be there in Atlanta for 30-45 days.  Im sure he will receive excellent treatment. Please continue to pray for healing for him and if you are so moved, please contribute to the gofundme link above to help in any way you can.  The go fund me is doing well, but this is going to be a very long road for these guys Im afraid.. Thanks again! Sells
