OPINION: I would have to believe that Clarksville is the team to beat.  Quite a few returnees and Coach Young.  However, I read on here that Rossview has picked up some really big, talented transfers.  Coach Jackson is a good coach.  Someone can verify that this is or is not true.  Northeast looks to be solid with good athletes/talent and working with new coaching staff.  Kenwood has good talent again as well, and they are coached well.  Northwest has some quality pieces and Coach Turner did a great job last year.  Not sure about West Creek, but they will probably be better in year two with these coaches.  Anybody else?

The Jamboree last night, it looked as if the Clarksville High team is the best to me,  Clarksville Academy looked solid,  I just did not see the Rossview dominance that people have spoke about,  two weeks in and I think District 10AAA finishes

1.Clarksville,

2,Kenwood,

3.Henry County

4.Rossview

5. Northwest

6.Springfield

7. Northeast

8. West Creek

Did you actually watch the games? Because if you did then you would know that Clarksville and West Creek (who you have #1 & #8) tied. I'm curious how that you figure Clarksville is the best team if they tied with the worst team, in your opinion? Rossview dominated Montgomery Central, which Jimmy Young has said is maybe his best team in 20 years, when their first group was in. They were up 11-2 when Coach Jackson subbed his 2nd unit. Also, the 6'8 transfer for Rossview didn't even play. Maybe you didn't see the Rossview dominance on Thursday but keep watching, it's coming! Northeast didn't play it's varsity guys at all. So they could be 7th or they could be #1. We'll have to wait and see.

And by the way, I don't put any stock in a jamboree anyway because most coaches are playing very basic and not running most of their stuff. But I watched the games the other night and those rankings from the CHS guy pretending to be a HC fan make no sense at all based on what I saw. I did not stay for Northwest/Kenwood but I would imagine they are pretty even from a talent standpoint. Anyone else watch that game?

Who will be the big dog in boys basketball this year in Montgomery county?

I remember not too long ago when this district was dominant. CHS played in two back to back championship games. Tyrone Caldwell was such a great playmaker and had a couple shooters and a stretch 4 that was really good. Northeast had a long run of unbelievable talent even before poythress and made the final 8 numerous timeS. West creek got there behind a kid I can't seem to remember but he was tough?? Rossview had a kid named Jonathan Williams that led several good teams. Henry county had a couple strong seasons and finished top 2 a couple years. Had a 6' post that was unreal. Dickson of course with primm and cast made it to final 8 at least once I think. Seems like 5 or 6 years straight 13 aaa was represented at Murfreesboro with one if not two teams. But last several years this district really seems to have fallen off. What's the deal? All the talent gone in Clarksville ? Too much coaching turnover? It used to be one of the premier districts in the state....

I think part of the issue is that CMCSS keeps building schools, and rezoning which is watering down/splitting the talent pool. West Creek opening took some talent from Northeast and some from Kenwood. So now instead of having 2 dominant teams there are 3 above average teams. Also, the downsizing at Ft Campbell has to have had an impact. In Dickson, Creekwood has most of the basketball talent right now but I don't think it was open when Primm and company were there. Not sure what Henry Co's issue is but I would guess it is football related. I think its a numbers issue.

    • Agree. The man literally sacrificed time, moments, memories you can't get back with his own family for every single athlete at that school. (and many others) To those that continue to be negative about him and continue to bring him up; He's been loyal, hardworking and just his entire coaching career. Ask anyone that actually has a leg to stand on in regard to Coach.
    • Egotistical? That's a new one.  It's funny, I'm friends with two of the younger coaches that he "ran off" as you say. In fact, he helped them find jobs, encouraged them to do what was best for their growing families, provided advice, support and still does to this day.

    • Track has always been big at OR. Ran off about 7 straight titles in the 60s. Your hate for Gaddis runs deep, huh? What did he ever do to you, to make you disdain him that much? You can’t seem to stop talking about the guy. He’s living rent free in your head. Might wanna get that checked out, you don’t wanna go to the grave with that on your heart.
    • This late in the year, you’d have to think they’d go with an Asst. on staff, right? I’m pretty new to the area so still learning how folks do things around here…if Woods stays there to teach, it could be hard on a new guy/staff coming in…
