Alcoa vs 6A. 2nd best team in the state?

With the way Alcoa played Maryville this year, if the Rebels win out every remaining game by more than a touchdown and Alcoa wins out, are the Tornados the 2nd best team in the state? Could they bump up and make a deep play off run in 6A? if so that's really impressive for a school with less than 600 kids.

Great topic!!          Would be interesting to have a modified class level playoff and then play for an overall state champion.     So each class (1A - 6A) has the top 8 teams with a 3 week playoff.  That gets us 6 state champions.   Problem would be how to play it out from there.   1A vs 2A, 3/4, 5/6.     That leaves us 3 finalists.      I guess for this to work then TN would have to have only 4 classes (1A - 4A).   There are 318 high schools in TN, not all of them have football, but even if there are 200 that would be about 50 schools in 4 classes.    Not sure that would work either.     So we are probably left to speculate.

Look at Indy and what they did to Centennial 49-6 this year , perhaps CHS just had bad game and Indy played flawless ?

Alcoa Is a good team, but they would get wayyy more loses if they were in 6a. They wouldn't have such a long run. Maryville would still beat them and the rest of the East and it would still be a battle of several teams in the west.
